Guest Designer for Time Out Challenge #163 - Inspired by Words

Hello there.  I’m excited to be back guest designing at Time Out for their challenge #163 Inspired by Words.

Grateful and blossom stood out to me.  And since STAMPlorations is sponsoring the challenge, I used a new unused (NBUS) stamp from them called Blossom Sprays #1 to create this thank you card.

The image was stamped on X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils.  Clear shimmer on the flowers for some sparkle and white dot details were added before fussy cutting it out.

For the background, took a kraft panel from my stash and blended kraft ink over an English Brick Wall stencil from My Favorite Things.  Purposely applied the ink unevenly and added black splatters to give it textured and rustic look.  The sentiment (freebie from closed down Winnie and Walter) was die cut from white shimmer and black cardstock and offset for a shadow effect.  Die cut the NBUS Memory Box Bubble Circle from Bristol paper then assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

For more inspirations from the design team, check out the challenge post HERE.  I want to thank Sandie and the TO team for having me guest.  Hope to see your cards in the gallery.  Enjoy your day.

  1. What an amazing card Trina. So much detail. I love the colours you used for the blooms and wow you fussy cut that-what a steady hand! I really like how you used this background of brick and fading in some areas. I always like contrast like this but not good at doing it myself! The added splashed add a nice arty look to your card. Wonderful to have you as GD again...you know we love you to join us. Have a super day xx

  12. Congratulations on being GD, Trina!
Your spray of flowers looks amazing! Your Copic coloring is as beautiful as ever and the pencil coloring, the sparkle, and the white dots add so much interest and depth to the spray. And I love your unevenly stenciled brick wall with fine black spatters. The black shadow of the die-cut sentiment makes the sentiment really pop. Such a well-thought-out card!

All your details add tons of interest and you always know just when to stop! Did you mean for your bubble circle to look like the handle of a flower basket? That's cool! Thanks again for linking at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
