I must admit yesterday was a frustrating crafting day.  I cut my fingers a few times, misplaced things, and it seems everything I set out to do was not working.  The best part of the day was when my mailman dropped off the package of dies! So excited about that!

YEtTI OR NOT

My first card features the adorable Yetitide Greetings with Evelin T Designs stamp set and cutaways.  My favourite image in the set is this little snowboarder and the idea was to have him snowboard under the norther lights!  Love his fun expression!

To start, stamped the Yeti with Copic friendly black ink on X-press It cardstock, coloured with Copics, then die cut out with the matching cutaway.  Took a scrap panel of Bristol paper from my stash and masked off a hillside.  Blended Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed distress inks to create the sky.

At this time, my happy mail with the new Peppermint Zone cover model had not arrived yet, so I placed the Peppermint Zone creative screening on top and added Black Soot distress ink through it with a mini blending tool.  Removed the stencil, then spritz with sparkle spray for some shimmer.  The dies did arrive in the middle of this, so I die cut the panel with the new Tilda cutaways to give it a fun edge.  Black heat embossed the sentiment, then mounted the panel with fun foam to a white card base to finish.

NUTCRACKER WISHES

My next card features the Nutcracker Kisses with Evelin T Designs stamp set and cutaways.  I had something else planned, but it didn't work out.  I ended up keeping it super quick and simple.

Once again, stamped the images with Copic friendly black ink on X-press It cardstock.  Coloured with Copics then die cut out with the matching cutaways.

Die cut a panel with the Tilda cutaways again from Bristol paper, then black heat embossed the sentiment with clear glitter embossing powder.  Added some Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet distress ink splatters.  Adhered the panel directly to a white card base to finish.  Should have went with this from the beginning... would have saved me a lot of time! 😂

These are two delightful cards, Trina. The colorful background of the first card is delightful and the classic nutcracker theme of the second is perfect for this holiday season. tfs

Fantastic cards Trina. Sorry to hear about the cuts to the fingers, etc. ... the dangers of card crafting. :) But you persevered and ended up with two awesome cards. LOVE the cute snowborder. So cool with the rainbow sky in-behind. And love the saw-tooth edging. The Nutcracker and ballerina are adorable. Love the splattered background and again that fabulous die-cut edge. xx

Meant to say I have been crafting today with a sticky plaster on my finger due to crafting and it's not easy.....so I feel the pain....LOL x

Don't you just hate cutting your finger, so hard to craft with a band aid.
Great fun cards Trina. Yes I love your yeti or not card, great northern lights.
Your nutcracker is so sweet :)

Glad you finally received the dies! Yay! :-)
The white Yeti looks so cute snowboarding under the GORGEOUS northern lights! The nutcracker card is sweet and I love that you added splatters in the background. They look like snowfalls and add so much interest.
Hoping the cuts heal soon.

Wow, Trina, two great cards! I love the Nutcracker Wishes. Nice, simple splattered background which lets the Sugarplum Fairy and Nutcracker take centre stage. I love the colouring of the images, right down to the great shine on his boots and cap. Love the die-cut---everything about this card. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
