I just adore this sweet image from the On a Christmas Walk stamp set by Picket Fence, and wanted to create a snowy woodland winter scene with it.
Started by stamping the image with Copic friendly black ink onto a Copic friendly stitched rectangle and coloured in with Copics. I was a bit disappointed that the hat and scarf on the cub stamped solid. Not wanting him to wear a black hat and scarf, I re-stamped the image using Real Red dye ink then shaded the hat and scarf with red Copic markers. They were then fussy cut out and pieced over the original image.
Next, masked the critters and a snow line, and applied VersaMark ink through a birch tree stencil with a sponge dauber. Heat embossed the trees with clear embossing powder, then ink blended Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch distress inks with blending brushes. Started in the middle and worked out to the sides going from lightest to darkest. Stamped the sentiment with VersaFine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Added snow with a white gel pen to finish.
