Hello there. I’m back today with another fall card from
Whimsy Stamps (WS) October 1 release. I used the same
Gourds and Pumpkins stamp set (shared yesterday
here) along with new
Autumn Layered Leaves stamp set and
Autumn Word and Shadow die.
The images were stamped with a taupe dye ink (retired) on Sahara Sand cardstock. Used a white and a dark brown Polychromos pencil to add highlights and shading, respectively, to the images.
“hello” from
Happy Sayings stamp set was black heat embossed onto the panel. Coloured a scrap of alcohol marker friendly cardstock in traditional red, orange and yellow autumn colours with Copic Sketch markers, then die cut the Autumn word from it. Mount it onto its black shadow piece, and assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

This is lovely. The soft muted taupe and sand made a wonderful background and the pop of color really stands out. A great autumn card.

ReplyDeleteI love the way you used your pencils to add detail to that fabulous neutral background, then finished with a bright retro sentiment Trina - so fun. Thanks for playing my theme challenge over at the Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteThat background is fabulous and I love how you amped it up. The retro sentiment in such bold colors is so much fun and a perfect pop against the neutral background. So glad you joined us at the Paper Players this week

ReplyDeleteWow, another beautiful fall card, Trina! I LOVE the background - stamped and pencil colored images on Sahara Sand! (I never thought of using Sahara Sand this way.) The die-cut sentiment in warm colors beautifully pops too.

Such lovely and happy feel for this autumnal card! Love your own background in sepia tones and the vibrant diecut sentiment that just pop out!! Awesome colouring the details with your pencils too!
ReplyDeleteI never think to colour the diecut sentiments with markers, thanks for the idea! :)

Your coloring looks stunning! All these plant elements look so realistic as if they had an extra dimension. I also love the sentiment in fiery autumn colors
