Whimsy Stamps Spooktacular Halloween Blog Hop

Welcome and thank you for joining us today! We were saddened to cancel our annual 31 Nights of Halloween event this year after Hurricane Ian. But this time of year, is the absolute most favorite time of year for our Creative Director, Deb Davis. We couldn’t let Halloween pass by without celebrating our Queen of Halloween with some EEK! worthy Halloween creations!

We DARE you, Deb! We know you love Halloween so much, but will you DARE check out these amazing Halloween inspired projects created just for you! Designers from the Whimsy Stamps New Release team are participating in this blog hop.

We also have a spook-tacular prize to give away! For your chance to win a $100 gift certificate to the online Whimsy shop, leave a comment on each blog posts along the hop.

The blog hop begins 10/29/22 and ends at midnight EST, 10/30/2022. We will choose the winners, and announce them on the Whimsy Stamps blog on October 31, 2022.

*************************************************

For Deb’s card, I used the Witch Whispers die set.  Deb, this card was created and sent late, so the one you hopefully have received by now is a bonus card from my stash to make sure you received happy mail in time. 😉

The witch, cats and trees (from Tree Assortment) were die cut from black cardstock.  The witch’s arm/hand was cut off (it sounds gruesome I know, but it is Halloween afterall 😂), flipped and “reattached” to make her look like she’s leaning against the fence post.  The fence and grass patches were die cut from dark gray cardstock using the Slimline Fence die set then shaded with a foam blending tool and Black Soot distress ink (DI).

For the background, a moon mask was die cut from a Post-It note using a die in the Pierced and Stitched Circles die set and adhered onto a Bristol panel.  Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot DI were then blended on with blending brushes to create the night sky.  Lightly flicked on some water and blot with a paper towel to give it a bit of texture. The sentiment was cut out from a leftover Slimline Terror 1 toner card front piece that had been foiled with black Decofoil through a laminator.  Assembled the card onto a top folding card base, then added some stars with a white gel pen to finish.

Your next stop on the hop is Jenny.  Happy hopping and good luck!
Have a happy Halloween, Deb!… and to anyone else who celebrate!k

With today being National Cat Day, I like to add my card with the two cats to the Cat Lover’s Hop.
With the night sky and silhouettes, I like to also add to Just Add Ink challenge #627.

  48. You are amazing at creating different scenes. The fence looks "alive" and even cutting off a witch's hand is fully justified. This is such an amazing card, Trina!
