Winter Wonderland

Hello there.  I’m back with my final inspirations from Whimsy Stamps (WS) November 10 release.   The new Winter Wonderland stencil makes it so easy to create a wintry background.

The evergreen trees and the ice hole were stencilled on Bristol paper using blender brushes and Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean distress inks (DI), respectively.  A blue Polychromos pencil was used to draw / shade the ice edge and ice hole.

The ice fishing bear image from Sheltering Love was left over from a previous card and was what sparked the idea for the scene in the first place.  “Snow” from the Let It Snow die set was die cut from black glossy paper. Splattered with diluted white gouache paint for snow.  Stamped “day” in black from Happy Sayings to finish.

For my second card, the forest were created with Iced Spruce distress oxide ink.  Speckled Egg DI was used for the trail / detail in the snow.

This gang of adorable penguins from Penguin Snow Days were coloured with Copic Sketch markers then fussy cut out (there are coordinating dies).

Stamped the sentiment from Blissful Winter in black then splattered with diluted gouache paint for snow to finish.
