Spellbinders - Monster Birthday

Hello there.  I’m back today to share some fun inspirations from the new Monster Birthday collection released this month by Spellbinders (SB).  The Dancin’ Birthday Dragon and Dancin’ Birthday Panda are interactive die sets.  Looks like blogger is misbehaving and not loading the video here, so if you want to see them in action, head over to my IG account HERE… just swipe to the second image for the video..

Anyway, the dragon card also features the new Make A Wish Arch Labels die set from the same collection.  As you can see they created the shaped card base, backdrop and border.  The backdrop was dry bembossed with the Head in the Clouds embossing folder (EF).  The flat side of the EF was brayered with aqua dye ink before running a piece of Bristol paper through the die cutting machine.  To get the ombré, it was partially inked and embossed several times.

The dragon was created from white and black cardstock and vellum paper.  The edges of the white pieces were inked with residual black ink left on a finger brush.  The purple is Wilted Violet distress ink (DI) lightly ink blended with a mini blender brush.  The sentiment was in my stash from this sympathy card.  A Spin and Slide Disc was used for the interactive swing element.  Popped the head up on foam tape and assembled the card onto the white arch card base to finish.

The second card is a mini slimline.  The pandas were much simpler to create from black and white cardstock.  Used C00/1/3 Copic Sketch markers to add fur details to them.  Coloured the gifts (part of the dragon set) with BG05 and V04 Copic Sketch markers.

For the colourful background, a piece of Bristol paper was ink blended with Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass  and Shaded Lilac DI for a pastel rainbow.  Then it was embossed with the Floating Balloons EF.  Spritz the panel with a shimmer spray for some sparkle.

The sentiment once again was in my stash.  Assembled the card onto a 3.25x6.25-inch white mini slimline card base.  Added shading below the pandas with T1/3/5 Copic Sketch markers and highlights wit a white gel pen to finish.
