Polar Bear Birthday

Hello there.  Starting off the week with more inspirations from Whimsy Stamps (WS) January release.  I am highlightimg the new Polar Bear Birthday stamp set today.  First up is a fun birthday card.

The cupcake was left over from this cardmaking session using the new Cupcake die set after I changed my mind to make two rainbow cards instead. The cake layers were die cut from kraft cardstock and ink blended with a brown dye ink.  The wrapper was die cut from white cardstock and ink blended with red dye ink.  Did the same for the heart, except darkened it with black dye ink.  The frosting was die cut from the new Chocolate, Caramel, Coffee paper.  Various dies from the new Fun With Words 1 die set were used to die cut the letters from white cardstock then the bottoms ink blended with red dye ink.

The polar bear was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper, coloured with Copic Sketch markers then fussy cut out.

Copic markers used:
reds - R14/27/46/39
whites/shading - W00/1/3/5

The Comic Burst A2 die was then die cut from kraft cardstock and the edges inked with the matching kraft dye ink.  Assembled the card onto a black A2 panel and added highlights with a white gel pen to finish.

My second card was going to be another birthday card, but after stamping and masking the bears to fit within the glossy white Polaroid frame, a Christmas card seemed more appropriate.  Plus, a great way to stretch that stamp set.

Once again, stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.

Copic markers used:
greens - YG01/03/07/09, G09
aquas - BG10/11/15/49
blues - B000/01/04/06
whites/shading - W00/1/3/5

The image was then cut down to Polaroid frame size and light blue dye ink was ink blended at the top.  Trimmed a piece of Blurry Flurries paper down to A2 size next, and stamped the sentiment from Teddy Bear Christmas Eve with Blueprint Sketch distress oxide ink at the bottom.   Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

Two adorable cards with the polar bears. Your coloring brings your cards to life and the bears add fun to both.

Two fantastic cards, Trina. The first one is so funny with the teddy bear and the birthday cake. I completely agree with you that a Polaroid card is a wonderful idea for a Christmas card. I love your creativity.
