Pickleball

Hello everyone.   Any pickleball players out there?  If you are, then the new Pickleball stamp and die
sets from Whimsy Stamps (WS) March release are perfect for you.  I have two simple cards featuring the die set.

The paddles were die cut from Taffy pattern paper, black glossy paper and thick white paper.  The Taffy and black glossy pieces were trimmed and adhered onto the white one.  A Menento Tuxedo Black marker was then used to trace around the edge.  The ball was die cut from white and coloured with a YG01 Copic Sketch marker.

All letters for the custom sentiment, except the letter t, were die cut from white paper using the Fun With Words 1 die set.  The “t” came from the Fun With Words 2 die set.  There is no K in the mix, so the letter R was modified to form a lowercase k.  Luckily the “i” is lowercase, which helps it not to look out of place. 😂   Had planned on doing a white-on-white sentiment, but changed my mind and coloured with Copic Sketch markers FB2 and 100.  Assembled onto a white card base to finish.

My second card is a punny birthday card.  The ball this time was coloured with a YG06 Copic Sketch marker.  Traced and fussy cut out a back shadow piece and coloured it with a YG07 Copic Sketch marker.  The player was die cut from black.

The ABC Bold alphabet letters were die cut next from white and black papers to offset for a drop shadow.  The white letters were ink blended with Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress inks (DI) then spritz with water and dabbed off with a paper towel for some texture.  The apostrophe was created with the inside of the letter A.

The sentiments from Koala Birthday were then stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto an A2 size Bristol panel.  Adhered the lettersl and re-stamped the sentiment to overlap onto the letters.

Finally stamped the swoosh image from Mixed Media Bits with Mowed Lawn DI before assembling the card onto a white card base to finish.  The ball was mounted with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

I love the way you include sentiments on your cards. I love the letters on the second card, colored in an ombre way and sprayed with mist to remove some of the ink. Overall, both projects are fantastic. I love every detail in these cards. I wouldn't change anything, in fact I wouldn't even come up with those brilliant solutions that you used in both cards.
