Stay Crafty with A Blog Naned Hero July 2024 Challenge - Color My World

Hello everyone.  It’s time for the new July Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge over on the Hero Arts (HA) blog.  This month’s theme is COLOR MY WORLD (colouring).

*affiliate links used in this post when possible at no extra cost to you… thank you!

HA products used:
▪️Thank You Flowers letterpress/foil plate
▪️Big Hugs stamp&cut

I love to colour and no surprise, my favourite method is using my Copic markers.  So that is what I did to create my card.

The floral press/foil plate was inked with Obsidian Amalgam ink, then pressed onto thick alcohol marker friendly cardstock using the Spellbinders BetterPress Letterpress.  Coloured the images with Copic Sketch markers, then added clear shimmer to the flowers for some sparkle (unable to capture it in a photo).

yellows - Y11/13/17, YR24/27
greens - G00/03/09/28

Masked the perimeter next, and ink blended yellow ink residue left in a blending brush into the opening.  Removed masks and splattered with diluted black gouache paint for some texture.  The sentiment was die cut from black cardstock and fussy cut apart into the individual letters.  Initially, I left them black and added white highlights, but then I changed my mind.  Love yellow with purple, so the sentiment was die cut from a scrap of lavender shimmer paper.  Offset with the black letters then embellished with some clear circle drops to finish.

How would you like a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards to the HA online store?  Simply use at least one HA brand product on your project and link it up HERE.  There you will also find more inspirations from the design team.  If you share on Instagram, make sure to tag @ablognamedhero with hashtags #heroarts and #staycraftychallenge so we can find you.  Challenge ends at 5:00 pm PT on August 4, 2024.  Thank you for stopping by.

Beautiful card, Trina! The flowers look stunning, but the execution of that window in the background is truly craftsmanship.

I'm late with my comments... busy time! Purple and yellow is a beautiful palette, always love all the complementary couples. Well done changing your mind with the sentiment colour. Amazing colouring as always!

Pretty card. I love the way you masked off the edges of the background. The flowers are gorgeous. Thanks for joining us at Addicted to Stamps and More!
