AAA Cards Challenge #127 - Kindness

Hello everyone!  I'm excited to be back again guest designing at AAA Cards for their next challenge #127 Kindness.

I had something else in mind when I first saw this challenge, but after the shocking and sad news of Melissa Lane's passing posted in the last challenge at AAA Cards, I wanted to pay tribute and celebrate her as well as thank her.  She is the reason I am guest designing today.  I wasn't fortunate enough to work with her or meet her in person, but I remember how kind and welcoming she was when I first entered the blogging world.  I think we were playing blog tag for nearly an hour at one point. My online encounter with her was brief, but she left a lasting impression.  She will be missed.

So in her honour, I created this.

Melissa loves butterflies and I thought this Butterfly Gown stencil would do the trick.  Ink blending through that stencil was done on an A2 size piece of Bristol paper using mini blending tools and distress oxide (DOx) inks.  Masking was also used to achieve multi colours on the image.

I thought about a bright rainbow butterfly dress (because you know me and a good rainbow opportunity), but I stuck with black for a classy look.  The face/body was coloured first using Tattered Rose.  The hair  next using Vintage Photo.  And finally the gown using Black Soot, and fading out at the bottom.  For some sparkle, the gown was heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  The sentiment was black heat embossed to finish.

AAA Card Challenge #126 - Moonlight

Hello again!  I am so excited to be guest designing at AAA Cards for their challenge #126 Moonlight

It's October and moonlight may make some think of a Halloween card, but since I don't do Halloween, I made a CAS Christmas card.

Started by diecutting a circle mask from post it note for the moon and positioned it in the upper right corner of an A2 size Whisper White panel.  Masked off the bottom, then blended Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue and Sapphire inks with a  mini blending tool for the sky.  Removed the circle mask and added  details to the moon with C00 and C1 grey Copic markers.  Splattered white acrylic paint for snow, but stopped after a large splat landed and I got nervous about ruining it.

Removed the bottom mask and black heat embossed Santa's sleigh and sentiment. Next, die cut a couple of branches (retired Memory Box die) from black cardstock and added piles of snow on them with a white gel pen.  Adhered the branches to the panel, then mounted the panel to a white card base.  Added more snow to the scene with a white gel pen.  Clear shimmer added to the moon finished off the card.  Wasn't able to capture the sparkle in the photo.

Hope you will play along.  For more inspirations from the AAA team, click HERE.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful day!
