Guest Designer for The Male Room Challenge #186 - Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Hello everyone.  Can’t believe it’s May already!  I’m delighted to be guest designing (GD) this month at The Male Room (TMR) for their challenge #186 - Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

I had the never-befire-used (NBUS) Paper Plane Pals stamp and matching die sets from Time for Tea Designs (T4TD) for years, so was excited to finally play with them to create this fun card.  

The panda and paper plane images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and quickly coloured/shaded with Copic Sketch markers R05/27/39 and C00/1/3/5 before die cutting them out.  The sentiment from Hello Bluebird Maverick stamp set was heat embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock then trimmed to a strip.

The background is Bristol paper ink blended with Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass distress inks over Through the Clouds stencil (NBUS and retired already 😆) from My Favorite Things (MFT) and It’s Cloudy stencil from Whimsy Stamps.  It was then die cut out with a MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle Set 1 die.  Die cut the MFT In Stitches Lowercase alphabet letters from black cardstock then assembled the card onto a split black/white card base to finish.  The image was popped up with 2mm foam adhesives for dimension.

Guest Designer for AAA Birthday Game#24 - Shaped Card

Hello again!  I am thrilled to be posting today as a guest designer (GD) at AAA Birthday for their Game #24 - A Shaped Card.

I bought the Big Pickup Tailgate stamp, coordinating dies and alphabet dies from Honey Bee Stamps (HBS), but never got around to using them yet.  So with this fun theme, I took the opportunity to do just that and created a birthday card for my nephew’s birthday last month.

All images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock, coloured in with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils, then die cut out with their matching dies.  The puppy is from Hello Bluebird (HB) Snowball Fight winter set.  The hat/balloons are from a retired set.

A white landscape top folding card base was partial die cut with the Big Pickup Tailgate die, ensuring the cutting edge extended past the fold.  The letters were die cut twice from black cardstock and once from silver foil paper then stacked for dimension.  The HB2U license plate was black heat embossed on a white scrap, then die cut out.  Assembled the card, then added Crystal Glaze on the balloons and rear tail lights for some shine and dimension to finish.  

Initially, I was planning to pack the truck with partying critters and accessories, but with two nieces also having birthdays in March, I spread them out to create two more custom cards for them.

CAS Christmas November Reminder - Non-traditional Colours

Hello everyone.  Are you done your Christmas cards yet?  If not, this is the reminder post for the Non-traditional Colours challenge at CAS Christmas.  

Here’s my card.

I just love the joyful expression on this bunny from Hello Bluebird (HB) First Snow stamp set.  He was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock die cut with My Favorite Things (MFT) Wonky Stitched Rectangle.  Coloured him and the snowy scene with Copic markers, then added snow with a white gel pen.

The ‘Sending Holiday’ sentiment from MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes was black heat embossed.  JOY from HB Joyful Mouse coordinating die was die cut from X-Press It and black cardstock.  Ombré coloured the white letters with the same red Copic markers used to colour the scarf, then added clear shimmer on top for some sparkle (hard to see in the photo, but it’s there).  Stacked and offset them for a shadow effect.  Adhered the panel to a white card base to finish.

Cozy and Warm Winter Wishes

Hello there.  Dropping in today to share a clean and simple (CAS) Christmas card inspired by several challenges.

I took the opportunity to use new Cocoa Party stamp set from Hello Bluebird for my card.  Stamped the fox with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock and coloured with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils in autumn colours for a cozy feel.  Who says you can’t use autumn colours for Christmas cards? 😉

Masked him, then added red, orange and yellow dye inks that remained on the blender brushes to the background.  Flicked some water and blot off with a paper towel to give texture.  The sentiment was heat embossed on black cardstock with white embossing powder.  The top line is from Jane’s Doodles Winter Words and the bottom from My Favorite Things Bitty Holiday Wishes.  Assembled onto a white card base to finish.

Christmas Craft Creations June Reminder - Christmas Trees

Hello everyone.   I’m popping in with the reminder post as guest designer for the Christmas Trees challenge at Christmas Craft Creations (CCC).

With Christmas Trees as the theme, I had to use the O Christmas Tree stamp set from Hello Bluebird to create this fun critter scene card.

Started by stamping all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock.  Coloured them with Copic markers and die cut out with the matching dies.

Next, turquoise dye ink was blended with a blender brush over hand cut hill masks onto a Bristol stitched rectangle panel to create the background.  The sentiment from Poppy Stamps (new unused gift from a friend) was stamped with Versafine Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and added a light flurry of snow with a white gel pen to finish.

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Happy Fri-YAY!   I’m sharing an easy CAS Christmas card today to play along with some challenges.  Here’s my card.

Using my MISTI, stamped the bunny from Hello Bluebird Skating Party with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock.  Wanted to show him in skating motion, so masked him, then shifted the cardstock panel to the right 1/8 of an inch and stamped with Memento London Fog ink.  Repeated again twice but using just the leftover ink on the third try (generation stamping) for an even lighter image.

To create the reflection, mirror stamping was done by stamping the bunny on a piece of acetate with Memento London Fog ink.  Flipped it over upside down and lined up with the image before pressing down.  Removed the mask and coloured the image with Copics.

Next die cut out with an A2 stitched rectangle die (retired) and black heat embossed the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Snowy Sayings with clear glitter embossing powder to finish.

Flying By

Happy Fri-YAY everyone.  I made my first slimline card!  And of course, it’s a Christmas card.  Christmas cardmaking season is my favourite time of year.

Hello Bluebird’s October 2019  release stole my heart and I was in the process of placing my order when my husband says it’s his early Christmas gift to me!  I must admit, I held back a bit because I didn’t want to take advantage of him. 😂   And he’s still asking me for my Christmas list!.. whaaat!?  BEST hubby ever!!! 🤗    Check out my early Christmas gifts.

So not wanting to add too many of these to my growing unused list 😉, I used a variety of stamps to create this fun scene.  All images were stamped with Copic friendly black ink on Copic friendly cardstock measuring 3.5”x8.5”.  The finished card fits in a regular #10 envelope.

Started by stamping the kitty, masked it, then stamped the plane.

Next, stamped the squirrel, masked it, then stamped the penguin.

The remaining images were stamped on their own, then the whole scene, including the tree line and mountains, was coloured in with Copics.  Snow was added with a white gel pen and the sentiment was white heat embossed on a black strip to finish.

This may be my first slimline card, but it won’t be my last.  I had a lot of fun making this and love the fact that I can use so many products.  Thank you for dropping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.

CAS Christmas May Challenge - Stocking

Hello there.  It's going to be a fun and busy month for me.  I'm kicking it off by hosting this month's challenge at CAS Christmas.  I have chosen Stocking as the theme.  Helen of Helen's Craft Haven is our guest.

And here's my super easy CAS card.

The mouse image was stamped with Copic friendly black ink, coloured with Copics then die cut out with the matching die.  Clear shimmer was added to the stocking for some sparkle.  Merry Christmas frame was die cut three times from scraps of Bristol paper and stacked for dimension.  Took the centre circle piece and applied texture embossing paste through a brick stencil.

Assembled the pieces onto a stitched rectangle panel die cut from Bristol paper as well and popped the panel onto a white card base with fun foam to finish.  It really was that easy and with two other cuties in the set, I had to make a card set.
