CAS Christmas January Challenge - Blue & Silver

Happy new year everyone!  Today is the start of a new year of Christmas card challenges at CAS Christmas.  The theme this month is Blue and Silver.

Metallic paper, especially the foil type, add gorgeous shimmer and sparkler to cards... BUT man oh man, they are a pain to photograph!  I had so much trouble getting a decent pic, so I  apologize ahead of time for my photos.  Trust me, it looks so much better IRL.  Anyway, here is my card.

The globe (new to me and already discontinued!) was die cut from a scrap of silver metallic foil paper.  A circle was die cut from Whisper White cardstock, then Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire distress inks were blended onto it.  Used my paper trimmer to cut the string and die cut the ornament loop from the same scrap of silver foil paper.

An A2 stitched rectangle panel was die cut from silver paper.  Inked the sentiment with Blueprint Sketch distress oxide ink, then heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  The branch (unknown) was die cut from a scrap of the silver paper.  Assembled the card and adhered the panel onto a white card base to finish.

We have Kaja from Kajcika Crafts as our guest this month.  If you need more inspirations to join us, check out the fabulous creations on the main blog HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.

Love the silver paper as the background as it shows off that beautiful world bauble to perfection. The gorgeous blues from the bauble and the blue sentiment, along with the bling looks fabulous. One stunning card and absolutely beautiful x.

Wow, what a stunning globe bauble, Trina! I love this card. Your beautiful ink blending makes the bauble look totally 3D and the shine of the silver foil is amazing! We all know that taking a good picture of metallic paper is so difficult, but you did a FANTASTIC job! I would be so proud if I could take pictures like these. :-)

The blue is the perfect backdrop for your beautiful silver die cut globe ornament Trina - love the white pine bough cut out of the white - giving just a suggestion that it's hung on the tree with the focus on the lovely ornament! Julia xx
