CAS Christmas January Reminder - Blue & Silver

Hi everyone!  This is the mid-month reminder for the  Blue and Silver challenge at CAS Christmas.  Here is my CAS card.

I've had this Jingle Snowflake die for over a year and now have finally used it!  It was die cut from a scrap of silver glitter paper that was already backed with some Stick It adhesive.  This is a beautiful die, but had to be extra careful when removing it from the die.  This was my third attempt.

The ombre background was created by ink blending Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire distress inks on a stitched A2 Bashful Blue (retired) panel form my stash.  Ensured the ink was dry before inking the sentiment with Chipped Sapphire distress oxide ink, then heat embossing with clear glitter embossing powder.  Added white acrylic paint splatters to finish.

There is one week left to enter the challenge.  For more inspirations from my wonderful team and guest Kaja of Kajcyika Crafts have worked their magic and you can see them HERE.  Looking forward to seeing what you create.  Thank you for dropping by.  Have a great day!

Very striking card with your bold ombre background Trina. The silver die-cut musical notes is so pretty cut from silver glitter paper. Looks like a very intricate die so I can imagine how difficult it was to cut with glitter paper. Beautiful card Trina! xx

What a stunning card Trina - I always love to see your makes when you come and play. My, that die cut does look really delicate - but so worth the time and trouble. I bet you will know this as an experienced crafter - for tricky dies it can help to add a layer of wax paper (JustRite is a good make) between the die and the card you're cutting. At least the die cut will just then fall out of the die, even though you have to sometimes spend time peeling the wax paper layer away.

Hugs

Di xx
