This fun die is 8.5” long, so it works for many size cards. Here I used it to create this super quick and simple mini slimline (SL) all thanks once again to WS fabulous pattern papers. This sunset pattern paper from the SL Glorious Sky paper pack was trimmed down to 3.25”x6.25”. The sentiment from Arctic Friends was an unused piece in my stash that had been white heat embossed on black cardstock. The heart hands was die cut from black cardstock before assembling to finish.
For my second card, I used it with the new Actions stamp set to create a chalkboard sign easel card .

The heart hands was die cut from white cardstock. You may recognize the heart cutout previously posted on this card. For the chalkboard look, the Actions stamp set phrase was white heat embossed on black cardstock. Used a microfibre cloth next to pick up white pigment ink and applied it to the black cardstock.
Adhered the heart hands above the phrase and quickly coloured the heart with a red Polychromos pencil, making it look chalky. The wood boards from SL Fence die set was die cut from Kraft cardstock. To accentuate the wood grain, Kraft dye ink was applied to it. Assembled the card onto a white card base, then fussy cut along the wood boards to create the easel legs to finish.

This is just a fabulous die, a must have ... There are surely a lot of uses for it (a photo inside the heart, a shaker...). The first card you made is just amazing, love how the heart hands seems the horizon. Very striking in black!
ReplyDeleteAnd the easel card is fabulous too with the faux wood and the white halo for the chalkboard look! Thanks for sharing how you made it. The sentiment is so true...!
Hugs
cool die and love your sunset card- such beautiful DP and your chalk board card is a stunner ♥
ReplyDeleteJust saw that your first card was one of the Team Picks at Tic Tac Toe - congratulations! What a fabulous die! The dp makes a wonderful sunset background for the first card. And I love the easel design of the second one.
ReplyDeleteSame die, different cards. The first is the perfect choice of patterned paper, combined with this die looks like a holiday card. The second card is incredibly funny, the shape of the card is really surprising and brilliant at the same time
