Create a Smile Challenge - For Kids

Hello there!  This is the official launch of my new blog!  If all goes according to plans, this should post in the middle of the night while I am still fast asleep. 😴💤   I am so excited to kick things off with a guest design post for Create a Smile stamps challenge - For Kids.

My inspiration was from this card and here is my card.

To start, a stitched rectangle panel was die cut from Bristol paper.  The swoosh of stars and the sentiment were heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The background was created with mini blending tools and the Rose Petal ink set.  The lightest colour was added through a Focal Point stencil first in the middle of the panel, followed by the remaining colours.  Finished off with Permanent Black ink around the edges.

The embossed areas should have resisted the dye inks, but for some reason they got stained.  The stars and sentiment were white heat embossed again. The image was stamped with Permanent Black ink on Neenah cardstock, coloured with Copics, then fussy cut out.  The panel was adhered to a split black/white card base.  Mounted the fairy with foam tape for a bit of dimension and added clear shimmer on the wings.  Drew in some stars wth a white gel pen to finish.

And that completes my first official post.  You can find more fabulous creations from the talented team over on their blog.  Thank you for stopping by.  Enjoy your day!

Fabulous new blog, Trina! Love the name and the header! Isn't Loll the best for helping us all get our blogs set up!

Love today's card - beautiful shades of rose / pink, and I love the way the Focal Point stencil highlights the centre of the card and is the light coming from the fairy's wand.
