Oh Happy Hugs and Kisses

Hello there.  Squeezing in a couple of cards today for some challenges to cap off March.  Both are based on a couple of sketches.  First up is a CAS card I made for  a friend who had a minor health setback this week.

I just got the Heart Beat die and wanted to put it to use right away.  Started by white heat embossing the sentiment on a scrap of Real Red cardstock.  It was die cut out with a heart die and Grapevine dye ink was added to the right side with a mini blending tool to give it some shading.  Clear shimmer was applied for some sparkle.

The same heart was then used to die cut from a Whisper White stitched rectangle panel.  The red heart was inlaid into the panel and held in place with tape from the back before die cutting the heart beat. Another heart beat was die cut from Whisper White cardstock and inlaid again.  Thought the monkey looked like he was puckering up, so stamped him with Copic friendly black ink on a scrap of X-press It paper, coloured in with Copics, then die cut out with the matching die.  Adhered the panel to a split black/white card base and called it done.

My next card is another spring themed card.

This stamp set that I've had for a couple of years unfortunately has retired.  But the images in the set are so sweet and perfect for spring cards.  The watering can was stamped with Copic friendly black ink on an A2 size piece of X-press It cardstock, coloured in with Copics then masked.

I wanted the watering can to be sitting by the edge of a brick home, so a strip was masked down the right side and Tea Dye distress ink was blended through a brick stencil (retired).  Masked a narrow strip next to it and blended Pumice Stone distress ink.  Created the sky by blending Tumbled Glass distress ink over a cloud edge stencil.  Black heat embossed the sentiment, then die cut the piece with a stitched rectangle.  Adhered to a white card base to finish.

And that does it for this post.  Thank you for visiting.

That heartbeat die is perfect for a get well card, especially layered over a heart like you did. And your spring card is beautiful - lovely fresh colours for the flowers, and the bright green grass looks just like new spring grass.
