Thinking of You Friend

Hello there.  Happy 4th of July to our neighbours to the south.  I'm dropping in quickly to share a floral card I created for a friend who is facing some health challenges.

Stamped the Gina K Designs Peaceful Roses image in the botttom left corner of an A2 sized stitched rectangle panel die cut from X-press It cardstock.  Coloured the image with Copics then masked it before applying Scattered Straw distress ink with a blending brush for the background.  Placed a sun ray stencil over top and added more ink through the stencil, but kept it subtle.  I must admit, yellow is a tough colour to work with.

Big Friend Shadow from Simon Says Stamp was die cut from black cardstock and its shadow from vellum.  Heat embossed the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Stripes with white embossing powder on a black strip.  Assembled the card on a white top folding card base. Added clear shimmer to the flowers, Crystal Glaze to the friend die-cut and a few clear sequins to finish.

Hope this surprise happy mail will brighten her day.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Lovely card to brighten your friend's day, Trina! Love the beautiful copic coloring and the subtle sunburst stenciling. The shine from the sequins, the shimmer spray, and the crystal glaze must be more gorgeous in real life.

Gorgeous card that is sure to brighten your friend's day. I agree with you about yellow ... it is tough. I don't think I've ever used Scattered Straw DI before. It just sits getting dusty. I love the colour and how it works on your roses. So pretty. And the blending brush really adds a very soft background glow. I am having lots of fun playing with mine! :) xx
