Guest Designer for Create a Smile Sketch Challenge

Hello again.  I'm excited to be guest designing at Create a Smile (CaS) for their next sketch challenge.

I must admit I struggled a bit with this one.  And in the end, I gave this bear a day off from delivering mail so he can par-tay! 😂

Started by masking the pile of envelopes in the baskets on the stamp itself before inking it with Copic friendly black ink and stamping onto Copic friendly cardstock.  Stamped the bear image again onto masking paper to create a mask. Repeated the stamping/masking for the balloons.

With the bear image (minus the wheels since they will be colored black) and balloons masked, the pavement was masked next so Cracked Pistachio and Broken China distress oxide (DOx) inks could be blended on with blending brushes to create the sky.  Masked the sky so Pumice Stone distress ink can be blended on for the pavement. Removed all masks and colored in the images with Copics.  White heat embossed the sentiment on a black scrap then fussy cut a fish tail on one end to match the sketch.

The gift and cake were coloured pieces in my stash.  Clear shimmer was added to the bow, cake icing and balloons to finish (couldn’t quite capture the sparkle in the photos).  To see more inspirations from the team, click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.  Enjoy your day.
