Spellbinders March Small Die of the Month

Hello everyone.  I’m dropping in today with a spring card made with the March Spellbinders Small Die of the Month (SDOM).

This month is all about Spring Flowers.  There are 13 dies included in the kit and when all used together, it will create a beautiful floral frame.  I went in a different direction and used the large corner with a few flower accessory dies to create a spring flower garden scene.

 

Started by die cutting the corner piece four times from Bristol paper and stacked two together.  Cut off the circle connector pieces and one of the straight edge using scissors.  The flowers were die cut from light pink and purple cardstock.  Added the centers to them with Copic markers BV02 and RV02.  Spring was then die cut from light pink cardstock and twice from Bristol paper and stacked.  On the pink one, added Kitsch Flamingo distress ink (DI) to the bottom part for a bit of an ombré.

Next, trimmed Bristol paper to 5”x3-11/16”.   Using blender brushes, applied Cracked Pistachio DI to the bottom for the ground and Broken China DI for the sky.  The sweet bunny from this month’s Clear Stamp of the Month set was stamped with gray dye ink and fussy cut out.  Happy from the same stamp set was stamped in Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Assembled the card to finish.
