Elegant Ornaments 2

Hello everyone.  Today I am sharing a couple of cards featuring the new Elegant Ornaments 2 stamp set from Whimsy Stamps (WS).  I couldn’t resist using one of the gorgeous pattern papers from my favourite Blurry Flurries paper pack in my favourite colour to create this card.

Trimmed the 6x6 pattern paper to A2 size, then white heat embossed the image directly on it.  Die cut a DIY circle stencil from masking paper using a Pierced and Stitched Circle die.  Placed the stencil around the image and ink blended Prize Ribbon distress ink, ensuring to leave a highlight.

Masked the ornament next and repeated the ink blending process using a DIY circle stencil that is one size smaller.  Used my heat tool to dry the panel before white heat embossed the loop on top of each ornament.  Drew in the string with a white gel pen and ruler.  Mount onto a white card base, then added the white bows from new Santa’s Sleigh Mini Accessories die set to finish.

My second card was inspired by Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree. 😂   It didn’t exactly work out as well as I had hoped.

Again a DIY stencil was created, this time using a die from the Tree Assortment die set.  Lightly ink blended through the tree stencil with Antique Linen distress ink to aid in the positioning / stamping of the ornaments.  Used a red dye marker to ink the ornament and stamped.  Then inked only the bottom left part of the ornament and re-stamped, repeating this a few times to give it shading.  Used a water brush to pull / move the colour then  heat embossed them with clear embossing powder to protect it for the ink blending to come.

Placed the tree stencil back and ink blended Gathered Twigs distress ink.  Masked the ground then ink blended Salvaged Patina distress ink for the background.  Drew in the strings with a permanent black marker and ruler.  Splattered with diluted white gouache paint and added accumulated snow on the tree branches, ornaments and base of the tree with a white gel pen.  Heat embossed the sentiment from previously released Santa’s Magic stamp set with Liquid Platinum embossing powder to finish.
