Spellbinders: Home Sweet Quilt Collection

Hello everyone.  It’s my second post today and I’m back with some quilting… paper quilting with Spellbinders Hone Sweet Quilt collection that is. 😂   If you enjoy inlay die cutting and want to use up some of your scraps, then this collection is for you.   I have two shaped cards to share.  The first card feature the Layered Windmill dies.

Wasn’t planning on making a winter card, but a pink scrap of Blurry Flurries pattern paper on my desk changed that.  Used the detail quilt die to die cut from that scrap, two shades of pink cardstock scraps and Bristol paper.  After that, started piecing the quilt together.  Finished size is 5”.

To make the shaped card base, used the back die solid layer and partial die cut a folded white card base, ensuring the cutting edge extended beyond the fold.  The snowflakes from Holiday Decorations were die cut from hot pink cardstock.  The sentiment which was white heat embossed on black was from my stash.

My second card is a friendship circle shaped card featuring the Quilted Stained Glass Window dies.  The detail quilt die was used to die cut from Bristol and two shades of aqua paper.  4 sections are attached together to create this 5.75” circle.

Because there is not an actual circle die, to create the shaped card base, the circle card was traced onto a white folded card base with a pencil then fussy cut out.  Once again, made sure the circle edge extended beyond the fold when positioning it for tracing.

To finish, the sentiment from Border & Sentiments stamp set was heat embossed with white embossing powder on a scrap of teal cardstock and die cut out with a Fluted Classic Circles die.

And that does it for the first day of 2023.  Thank you for stopping by.  Happy new year!

I see the pieces and love the papers but no way would my mind figure out how to put them together. Cardmaking is suppose to be fun but that would not be fun for me. It would be incredibly stressful. Your quilt cards are lovely.

Two beautiful quilt cards, Trina! I love quilt dies but have resisted the Spellbinders ones since I have so many. Will have to take another look, thanks to you :)

Two fabulous cards, Trina! The paper quilting dies look very versatile. Using the pattern paper for some pieces worked so well! Love the beautiful color combo for both cards.

How beautifully you combined patchwork with lace. This quilt looks really inviting. The second card is an equally beautiful medley.
