Happy Retirement

Hello everyone.  This tropical summer sunset background was intended for a different project that unfortunately didn’t work out.  I wasn’t sure if I would ever use it until my husband asked if I had a retirement card he can use for one of his colleagues… I said yes then die cut the Happy Large word from black and white cardstock to offset for a drop highlight and stamped “retirement” from Happy Sayings in black directly onto the panel and voila!  Done!  Both products are from Whimsy Stamps .

And how was the background created?  By masking and ink blending Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet distress inks with foam blending tools.  Stamped the silhouette Paradise Palms images from Newton’s Nook using Versafine Onyx  Black ink, then added waves with a white gel pen to complete the scene.

So glad I hung onto it. 😊  That does it for my card.  Thank you for stopping by.

How could you throw that tropical background? It’s just gorgeous! And I'm so glad you have had the perfect occasion to use it! :) Absolutely fabulous with that sentiment and love how you used that big diecut with the offset with a smaller stamp, the mix looks so striking!
