Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero February 2024 Challenge - Do You Believe in Love

Hello there.  It’s time for the Stay Crafty with a Blog Named Hero February challenge over on the Hero Arts (HA) blog today and this month’s theme is “Do You Believe in Love?”.

*please note: affiliate links were used in this post when possible at no extra cost to you… thank you*

I wanted to create a non-traditional colour masculine card that was not pink and/or red.  One thing lead to another and maybe I went too far(?). 😂

HA products used: (all new-to-me)
▪️Winter Script Messages transfers (aka rub-ons)
▪️Script stencil

Started with the background and ink blended dark gray dye ink over the Script stencil onto the matching dark gray colour cardstock for a tone-on-tone.  Ink blended the same dark gray ink and Black Soot distress ink (DI) around the perimeter to give a spotlight effect.  Splattered with diluted white gouache paint for texture, then rubbed on the transfer script sentiment.

The hearts were die cut from light gray cardstock with the second and third smallest heart infinity dies, then ink blended with Black Soot DI for dimension.  The second largest heart infinity die was then used to die cut a heart from white cardstock and folded to form the envelope.  I forgot where I saw this idea first, but I did a google search for folded heart envelope and found a good tutorial here.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and added highlights with a white gel pen to finish.  I think this design is versatile and can be re-created in any colour.

Are you ready to show some love?  The challenge runs till 5:00 pm PT on March 3.  There are two $50 gift cards to the HA online store up for grabs.  One winner will be randomly selected and the other will be voted on by the design team (DT).   To qualify, make sure to use at least one HA brand product.  For full details, more DT inspirations and/or to link up your entry, please click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.

Well, for heaven's sake! First I love it just because it's so striking and beautiful while still being perfectly masculine. Then I love it for that darling little envelope made from a heart. Wow! I SO appreciate the link to how it's done. Who would've thought? I can't wait to try it. Your cards are always so very special, Trina. Thank you lots for sharing in our Heartfelt challenge at Double D!

What a fantastic valentine for a guy, Trina! The envelope made from a heart is AMAZING and I love the dimension that the ink on the edges gives the hearts! Then just enough "splatter" with the white dots! Not too far at all!
