Stay Crafty March 2024 Challenge Reminder - A Kind of Magic

Hello everyone.  I’m back today with a card for the Stay Crafty March challenge - A Kind of Magic hosted on the Hero Arts (HA) blog.

*affiliate links were used when possible in this post at no extra cost to you… thank you*

Just a quick recap the magic we are referring to is heat embossing! Although I rarely use it much these days, I used to heat emboss on all my Christmas cards back when I first started out.  So as a nod to my early cardmaking days and my goal to create Christmas cards throughout this year, my reminder card is a Christmas card!

HA products used
▪️Winter Foliage stamp & cut XL
▪️Ornaments Infinit dies
▪️Unicorn White pigment ink

Normally green is not my go-to-colour for Christmas cards, but on the heels of St. Patrick’s Day and thanks to some challenges, it seemed fitting.  The lightest colour paper from Memory Box Greenery paper pack was used to die cut the circles, ornament, loop attachments and pine needles.  The circles and ornament were ink blended with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness distress inks (DI) and then their edges inked with Unicorn white pigment ink.

Gold heat embossing was done next. Trimmed the darkest colour paper from the Greenery paper pack to A2 size and heat embossed the sentiment on it.  Took a Versanarker and dabbed randomly on the panel then heat embossed them for faux gold splatters.  Also used the Versamarker and a ruler to draw and heat emboss the strings.  For interest and added detail, heat embossed the firework burst onto the ornament.  And lastly, heat embossed the loop attachments.  Before assembling the card onto a white card base to finish, ink blended Rustic Wilderness DI around the background panel edges for a spotlight effect.

Challenge closes at 5:00 pm on March 31, 2024.   HA is generously giving away two $50 gift cards to their online store.  One winner will be randomly selected and the other will bevoted on by the design team.  Ensure to use at least one HA brand product to qualify.  Full details, more inspirations and the link up tool can be found HERE.  Hope to see you in the gallery.  Thank you for stopping by.
