Classic Cars

Hello everyone.  Are masculine cards challenging for you?  Then the latest Whimsy Stamps (WS Classic Cars Quick Card Fronts (QCF) is your solution.  These QCF panels are awesome time savers, but I wanted to dress them up more with stencilling.  Let’s just say many mistakes later, I managed to salvage the card. 😂

Orange dye ink was ink blended through the Sun Rays stencil directly onto the QCF panel.  I always struggle with the colour orange, so to minimize it, Black Soot distress ink (DI) was blended around the perimeter and fading in.  When that didn’t work out either, the new Retro Mod dies came to the rescue! 😉 The Retro Mod pieces were die cut from black, orange, teal and white cardstock.

Now that I’ve pivoted and my card got a lot busier than I had planned, I just went all in with the retro vibes and added the Retro pattern paper in the background.  An opening was die cut from it with the largest die and of course I accidentally glued it upside down onto the white card base.  Pivot again and assembled the card without inlaying.  Trimmed out the sentiment from the sentiment panel that comes with the QCF pack to finish.

I was determined to make my stencilling ideas work (avoiding orange was key 😂) and was pleased with how these other two cards turned out.  The brick one was inspired by graffiti wall art.

WOW!!! Not one, but three fabulous masculine cards!!! - AND- two of them using (hidden) ORANGE!! Wait.... It's Trina's blog this one?? LOL :D But there is blue on the last one! Yes, it is LOL :)
The retro cars, the modern designs and the stencilling remember me the Pop Art and are very impressive. Your saving after the mistakes is great!! No one could say that you made them! So professional just as you are! Beautiful cards and the sentiments are so fun, especially the second one! :D
Hugs!

Wow, Trina! The way you've combined stenciling with the classic car images is amazing! All three cards are absolutely stunning. While I wouldn't necessarily reach for masculine images like these myself (and I'm a terrible driver!), it just goes to show your incredible talent and versatility. You make from elegant floral cards to cool classic car ones! It was truly worth the time saving the first card and making two more.
