Spellbinders - Sealed 3D Botanical

Hello everyone.  I’m popping in to share projects for the Sealed 3D Botanical collection released last month from Spellbinders (SB).  First up are cards featuring the Mushrooms From Me to You 3D Emboss & Cut Folder (ECF) and the Scallop Labels & Tag dies.

At first glance these look the same, just different designs.  But they are actually reverse/mirror images of each other.  For the shaped “hi” card on the left, white pigment ink was applied to the raised areas on the embossing folder (EF) before embossing.  While on the “smile” card, white pigment ink was applied to the raised areas on the cardstock after embossing.

The EF has three size images.  The best way to use it is to die cut first then emboss like the “hi” card above.  However, an A2 size panel will fit in the EF over the largest size image, as evident on the “smile” card.  It was trimmed down and matted on white.

My next card takes the same technique as the “smile card one extra step.  After applying white pigment ink to the raised embossed Kraft panel, the mushrooms were coloured with pink Copic Sketch markers (RV55/66).

The sentiment and matte scallop label layer were ink blended with Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar distress inks.

Assembled onto a white panel embossed with the Four Petals EF.  Embellished with a few Peach Blush gems to finish.

For my final card, I used the Floral For You ECF with the blackout EF technique.

Initially, images on the debossed side were coloured by ink blending.  I couldn't get the colours vibrant enough to my liking nor could I add the colours precisely where I want them, so I turned to my Copic markers for the solution and it worked beautifully.  The colours popped so well when black pigment ink was dragged over top to complete the technique.

Mat the image with a black arch die cut piece onto a black Four Petals embossed panel.  Die cut the sentiment from gold foil paper and mount it onto its black shadow piece to finish.

Here they all are.

All the SB new releases for June can be seen HERE.  Product's used for my cards are linked below.  Thank you for stopping by.

I love what you've done with the double technique embossing, Trina! Both ways work beautifully on the dark blue and the red mushroom with the kraft is colorful and fun! Love the flowers and butterfly and the black really makes the colors pop!

It's so interesting seeing how the white ink looks on the EF after and before running it through the machine. And your BLUE choice :) makes the lovely mushrooms design just pop! Love also the kraft/pink one, so sweet.
The floral card with the blackout technique looks so dramatic and absolutely love the EF you used for the backgrounds!
