CAS Christmas October Challenge - Gray and Red

Hello everyone.  I’m back with my second post today.  This time it’s for the October challenge at CAS Christmas.  This month’s theme is GRAY and RED.

I used a new-to-me Jingle Bells stamp from Purple Onion Designs (POD) with STAMPlorations Jingle Bells die to create my clean and simple card.

The POD bell image is am unmounted red rubber stamp, so a temporary adhesive was used to attach it to the MISTI door.  Stamped the image on a stitched Smoky Slate rectangle panel with Memento London Fog ink because I was planning to colour it with Copic markers, but the small narrow areas made me switch to Polychromos pencils.

Next, the sentiment was die cut from red foil paper.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then drew in a few stars with a white pencil to finish.  Easy-peasy.

Darnell (djkardkreations) is our wonderful guest this month.  To see what she and the design team have created to inspire you to play along, click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week.

Trina, I LOVE how your stars shine in the center! And those bells are gorgeous, I don't think there is a medium you use that your card is not stunning!! Fabulous as always and such a great inspiration piece!

The die cut sentiment really stands out on the grey card using that wonderful bright red foil paper Trina, and the metallic silver look of the jingle bells works so well for this red/grey theme, and the white stars you drew in are just perfect. x

WOW! What a stunning card, Trina! The bells look so natural, great work with Polychromos pencils. I think choosing them instead of the markers was a perfect idea. The red sentiment harmonizes perfectly with the image. And the icing on the cake ... the white stars surprise against the gray background with their radiant brightness. Lovely card, Trina.

Before I forget, awesome handdrawn stars, Trina!! I appreciate the reminder that sometimes we don't need a stamp. They really added a lot to your already perfect Christmas card design. I have those bells and that sediment die so thank you for the great inspiration and thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

Splendidly lovely holiday season greeting. The classic connection between bells and Christmas is one of my favourite elements of that holiday.

Speaking of bells, I recently picked up some darling little orange bells with jack-o-lantern faces on them (from a dollar store) and cannot wait to use them on some spooky season paper crafting creations.

Saw your card on the NBUS blog and the bells looked 3D so I had to come and see them for myself - absolutely stunning job!!
