Stay Crafty May 2024 Challenge Reminder - Tea for Two

Hello everyone.  I have another card inspiration for the “TEA FOR TWO (two of something)” May Stay Crafty challenge over on the Hero Arts (HA) blog.

*please note: affiliate links used in this post when possible at no extra cost to you… thank you!

HA products used:
▪️Peeking Snowman die
▪️ Winter Foliage stamp & cuts XL

Continuing with my goal to make at least one Christmas card a month, I used the Peeking Snowman dies to create a fun selfie card as the snowman trio (seen herebecomes a duo for this challenge. 😂*lol*.  There are other twos on this card besides the obvious two snowman.  Can you spot them?

The snowman and hat were die cut twice from X-Press It paper and colour with Copic Sketch markers. For the reverse image of the snowman on the right, colouring was done on the backside.  Both hats were coloured from the front.  Partial die cutting with an oval infinity die was used to alter/shorten the hats.

Copic markers used:
reds - R05/27/46/39
turquoise - BG00/02/05/07/09
cheeks - R81
noses - YR02/07, E08
whites/shading - C00/0/1/2/3

Found a white rectangle scrap in my stash and die cut an opening with a square die to create the photo frame.  Stamped the sentiment in black, then adhered the snowmen behind it.  Cut off the overhangs with scissors.  For a fun non-traditional colour palette, the background was ombré ink blended with two pink dye inks and splattered with diluted white gouache paint for snow.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then added two white hollies to finish.

There are two HA $50 gift cards to their online shop awarded per challenge.  To qualify, use at least one HA brand product on your project and link it up on the HA blog HERE.  If posting on Instagram, make sure to tag @ablognamedhero and include hashtags #heroarts and #staycraftychalleng.  Challenge closes at 5:00 pm PT on June 2, 2024… so there is still plenty of time to enter.  Thank you for stopping by.

Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero May 2024 Challenge - Tea For Tw

Hello everyone!  The May 2024 Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge begins today on the Hero Arts (HA) blog .  The theme is TEA FOR TWO… or two of something.

*please note: affiliate links used in this post when possible at no extra cost to you… thank you!

HA products used:
▪️Thank You Flowers press/foil plate
▪️Sentiment Strips die
▪️Glitter Paper Basics paper
▪️Pitch Black cardstock

Since Mother’s Day is on Sunday, I created a CAS (clean and simple) card with two flowers and two letter m’s.

Instead of foiling, the flower press/foil plate was inked in black and pressed onto thick white cardstock using the BetterPress system from Spellbinders.  The plan was to leave it as is, but I couldn't do it 😂*lol* and had to add shading.  I did compromise and added shading only to the leaves with a grey Polychromos pencil. 🤗

The ”m-o-m” letters were die cut from white glitter paper and ombré coloured with R14/27/46/89 Copic Sketch markers.  The sentiment strip was white heat embossed on pitch black cardstock then die cut out with the coordinating strip die.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and finished off with a few clear jewels from Memory Box.

How would you like to win one of two HA $50 gift cards to their online shop?  Simply create a new project following the theme using at least one HA brand product, then link it up on the HA blog HERE.   If posting on Instagram, make sure to tag @ablognamedhero and include hashtag #staycraftychallenge.  One winner will be randomly selected and the other voted on by the design team.  Challenge ends at 5:00 pm PT on June 2, 2024.  Thank you for stopping by.

Guest Designer for Colorful Optiins May 2024 Challenge - Royal Blue

Hello there.  I’m excited to be back with a second guest designing (GD) post today.  This time it’s at Colorful Options (CO) for their May challenge where ROYAL BLUE is the colour of the month.  If you are not wild about that colour, a rainbow option is always available.  Here’s the challenge inspiration graphic.

Ironically, GD this month at CO gave me deja vụ… check out my post from last May HERE to see why. 😉  Princess Kate wearing the gorgeous gown in the challenge graphic above was the inspiration this year and I used the new fashion products from Whimsy Stamps (WS) latest release to create this “truly fabulous darling” card. 😂*lol*

The dress from Fashion Dresses and accessories from Fashion Accessories die sets were die cut from blue and/or black cardstock.  Added shading/details to the blue pieces fittingly with Royal Blue Copic Sketch marker B28.  Tried to add some sparkle to the dress with a white gel pen… didn’t work as well as I had imagined. 😂*lol*   Stamped the fashionista from Slay the Day with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and coloured with Copic Sketch markers before fussy cutting out.

Copic markers used:
skin - E00/11/53/04
lips/eye shadow - B12, FB2, B28
fur - C00/1/3
grounding/shadows - C00/0/1/2/3/4/5

The Fashion Dress Form was die cut from silver shimmer paper.  The marquee was die cut from an A2 size Bristol panel then the cutout ombré ink blended with Blueprint Sketch distress ink.  The marquee frame was die cut from silver foil paper.  Trimmed strips from silver foil paper for the shelves.  Grey dye ink was then ink blended over a Giraffe stencil on the Bristol panel for the cobblestone wall.  White heat embossed the sentiments on black cardstock, then assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

I want to thank Makira and the CO team for this GD opportunity.  For more inspirations and/or to link up your entry, click HERE.   To see the April release from WS, click HERE.  WS products used for my card are linked below.  Thank you for stopping by.

Guest Designer for The Male Room Challenge #186 - Planes, Trains & Automobiles

Hello everyone.  Can’t believe it’s May already!  I’m delighted to be guest designing (GD) this month at The Male Room (TMR) for their challenge #186 - Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

please note: affiliate links were used in this post when possible at no extra cost to you… thank you.

I had the never-befire-used (NBUS) Paper Plane Pals stamp and matching die sets from Time for Tea Designs (T4TD) for years, so was excited to finally play with them to create this fun card.

The panda and paper plane images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and quickly coloured/shaded with Copic Sketch markers R05/27/39 and C00/1/3/5 before die cutting them out.  The sentiment from Hello Bluebird Maverick stamp set was heat embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock then trimmed to a strip.

The background is Bristol paper ink blended with Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass distress inks over Through the Clouds stencil (NBUS and retired already 😆) from My Favorite Things (MFT) and It’s Cloudy stencil from Whimsy Stamps.  It was then die cut out with a MFT A2 Stitched Rectangle Set 1 die.  Die cut the MFT In Stitches Lowercase alphabet letters from black cardstock then assembled the card onto a split black/white card base to finish.  The image was popped up with 2mm foam adhesives for dimension.

I would like to thank Helen and TMR team for the GD opportunity.  For full details, more inspirations from the design team and/or to link up your entry, click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.
