Whimsy Stamps - Wicked Witches and "Wick"ed Candles

Hello there.  Spooky season continues and I have another fun Halloween scene card to share made with more spooktacular Halloween products from Whimsy Stamps (WS).  The wicked witches are circling the "wick"ed candles is the scene I've created. 

Started by stamping the candelabra and candles from Candle Creeps with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on XPress It paper.  Masked them with their NoFuss masks then masked off the wall.  Stamped the Farmhouse Shiplap Background next for the floor.  Moved the wall mask down to cover the floor, then ink blended Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Black Soot distress ink (DI) for the wall.  For a bit of fun texture, stencilled the Honeycomb Drips with leftover Mowed Lawn DI remaining on the blending brush. 

The Roaming Monsters witches and pumpkins from Build-a-Pumpkin Patch were die cut from white paper.  The witches were ink blended with Mustard Seed and /Black Soot DI to show the glow of the candles.  Removed masks then coloured the images/scene and pumpkins with Copic Sketch markers.

The sentiment from Wicked Cute was black heat embossed.  Was going to use a sentiment from Candle Creeps, but I love the double meaning behind Wicked for witches and candles 😉  The black web diecut in the upper left corner was from my stash. Assembled the card onto a split black/white card base to finish.

Whimsy Stamps - Cutie Batootie

Hello and thank you for joining me today.  I followed the Die Cut Swing Card tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers to create an A2 size fun fold Halloween card featuring the Cutie Batootie stamp set from Whimsy Stamps (WS). Unlike my previous Halloween cards, today's cute Halloween cards are more my speed. 😉 

The front of the card when closed depicts Cutie (Batootie) hanging from a branch and sleeping as he waits for Halloween.

Then Poof! the wait is over and Halloween arrives!  The card opens and expands to reveal Cutie awakens and ready to trick or treat! 😂  Unable to add the video on my blog, but it was successfully uploaded on Instagram, if you want to see it in action.

Bristol paper was used as the card base.  Before partial die cutting and scoring it as instructed in the tutorial, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress inks (DI) were ink blended over the It's Cloudy edges stencil to create the night sky.  For some texture, splattered it with water and blot with a paper towel,  And  splattered again with diluted black gouache paint.  After folding, the finished width was 5", so it was trimmed down to 4.25" to make it A2 size  

Poof! was die cut from black cardstock and backed by a white Comic Speech Bubble.  The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on XPress It paper, coloured with Copic Sketch markers then fussy cut out.

grays - C00/1/3;4/5;6 

ears - E00/01/02 

cheeks - R20 

Since this is a night scene, the Pierced and Stitched Circles die was chosen for the swing die shape to be the moon.  The moon was ink blended with Mustard Seed DI then details added with Copic Sketch markers (Y38, Y1R23).  

The Halloween Trees and Grasses stencil was used to add the branch with Black Soot DI.  The Trick or Treat sentiment was die cut from black cardstock and black glitter paper to stack for dimension.  The negative cutout was used to help with alignment.  The black bats were just die cut from black cardstock.  Assembled the card to finish.

Hello there.  I'm back today with a CAS (clean and simple) Christmas scene card.  I love stretching my supplies and had an idea for the Spellbinders Snow Notes snowman.  He was singing his heart out when he got distracted. 😂 

The snowman pieces were die cut from X-Press It paper and black cardstock.  Colouring/shading on the white pieces were done with Copic Sketch markers then assembled him together when done.  

Copic markers used:

teal scarf - BG11/13/45/49 

white carrot - N0/1/2/3 

moon/snow - C00/0/1/2/3 

For the background, trimmed Bristol paper to A2 size and masked off the sides with 1" wide painter's tape.  A moon mask, die cut from masking paper with a Circle Infinity die, was then adhered to the panel before ink blending Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire distress inks (DI) for the night sky.  Removed the moon mask and added crater texture/details on the moon with Copic Sketch markers C00/1/2/3 

The Santa sleigh image and sentiment (both retired) were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder for some sparkle.  Glued the snowman to the scene and with the side masks still in place, splattered the scene with diluted white gouache paint for a snowy effect.  The snowman gets splattered too because snow falls everywhere. 😉  Trimmed the sentiment to a strip then mounted the panel onto a white card base to finish.

Jolly Snowman

Hello there.  It's still Christmas in July, and I have a CAS (clean and simple) Christmas card to share using an oldie, but goodie stamp from Purple Onion Designs (POD).   For those not familiar with this cutie, meet Jolly (snowman looking up).  

Jolly was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper, coloured with Copic Sketch markers then masked.  Ink blended Water Hyacinth fresh dye ink from Altenew (ALT) then die cut the panel down with the Blanket Stitched Rectangle from Pinkfresh Studio (PFS) for a decorative edge.

scarf/pocket - B60/63/66 

twig arms - E31/25/29 

buttons - N7 

snow/shading - B0000/000/00, C00/0/1

And I couldn't think of a more appropriate greeting wish (retired Poppy Stamps) from Jolly. 😉  It was black heat embossed using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear glitter embossing powder for a bit of sparkle.  Adhered the panel onto a white card base then added falling snow with a white gel pen to finish.

Guest Designer for All About Papercraft Challenge #7 - Friendship

Hello there.  I’m excited to be guest designing (GD) this month at All About Papercraft (AAP) for their challenge #7 - FRIENDSHIP. 

My card was based on sentiment “if friends were flowers, I’d pick you”, but I could not find that stamp anywhere! 😟  So a recent favourite from the Sweet Friendship stamp set by Simon Says Stamp (SSS) was used in its place for my card.  

That sentiment was stamped on Bristol paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The rest of the main products were from Spellbinder (SB).  The sentiment was die cut out with the Essential Arches.  Salvaged Patina distress ink was then ombré ink blended from the top and excess ink wiped off with a paper towel (emboss resist).  Die cut an arch frame also from Bristol paper and mounted it on top.  

The Wild Coneflowers and dry embossed Cascading Dots background were in my stash after this daisy bouquets card.  The flower petal layers were ink blended with pink and/or yellow dye inks.  The pink ink was used as the shadow ink on the yellow flowers, resulting in the orange colour you see.  The foliage were die cut from green cardstock, and coloured with Copic Sketch markers (YG61/63/67) to give them better definition and dimension.  The flower centers were also coloured with Copic Sketch markers (Y15/17, YR23/24/27, E18). and glittery texture added to them with a white gel pen.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish
