CAS Christmas August Challenge - Wreath

Hello there! This month's CAS Christmas challenge starts today and we want to see a Wreath on your clean and simple (CAS) Christmas card.  This is what I came up with.

That adorable Mini Wreath  was die cut twice from Neenah cardstock, then coloured with Copic markers, giving it some texture and dimension.  If I were to mass produce it though, I would just die cut it from green pattern paper or cardstock.  Did the same for the bow, but for a little sparkle, added some clear shimmer to it.

The door and steps were die cut from Bristol paper.  There was a Pinewood embossed piece in my stash and I thought that would give the door nice texture, so I die cut the door again from it.   I then removed the door frame from the plain Bristol piece and popped it over top of the wood embossed door frame.  Needed the steps to fit the scene, so they were die cut two more times from Bristol paper and stacked.  The sentiment was heat embossed on vellum with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  Vellum was added behind the window for that frosted window look.  Added all the pieces,  except for the wreath, onto an Early Espresso panel.  Attached the panel to a white card base, then mounted  the wreath up on some foam tape to finish.

Our July winner, Birgit of Rapport fran ett skriybord, is our guest designer this month.  She and my team have created some fabulous cards to inspire you and you can see them all HERE.  The challenge runs till September 24.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful week!

LOVE the woodgrain on your white door Trina - so glad you did a side shot so we could see it in the photo! Your layered wreath is beautiful in the two shades of green and it all stands out so well against the brown 'house'!

Oh I love this door with the pretty wreath, and I want it at my house, Trina! I admire that you always pay a lot of attention to details - the pinewood embossed door, the vellum frosted window, the layered door steps, not to mention the pretty Copics colored wreath & bow. The heat-embossing the sentiment on a vellum strip is a great idea to add the sentiment to this card too. Hideko xx

I love all the depth and dimension of your door and steps, Trina! And that little wreath is exquisite! I think it's much more vibrant than it would be from patterned paper!

Love your sweet door wreath, Trina! Adding the layers and different shades of green colouring really gives it lots of depth. The purple bow is a lovely surprise ... great colour combo that also works so well with the dark brown background. So happy I was able to see this in real life today ... awesome! xx
