Another Birdie Birthday

Hello again!  I'm back with the next birthday card for a couple of crafty friends who share the same birthday today!  With the recent postal strike in Canada, I'm not sure if they have received it yet.  For today's card, I just love this sweet Happy Owlidays Christmas set and wanted to stretch it and make a Winter birthday card.

This little scene was created by masking and stamping with Copic friendly black ink on a stitched rectangle die cut from X-press It cardstock.  Except for the birdhouse, all images are from that Happy Owlidays set.  Images were coloured with Copics and the strings were drawn with a black Copic multilines and a T-ruler.

The sky was created by lightly sponging Tumbled Glass and Wilted Violet distress inks.  I made sure to leave areas of white.

The sentiment was black heat embossed before the panel was adhered to a white card base.  Falling snow and snow accumulation on the birdhouse was added with a white gel pen to finish.  Of course, I didn't want to play favourites, so I made the same card for both. 😉

And that does it for me.  Thank you for stopping by.  Happy holidays!

Wow, Trina, your masking, stamping and colouring have created a wonderful little scene. The images are adorable and so well placed. I love that beautiful background, too. What a lot of work, addiong the falling snow with a white gel pen, but it really is the perfect finishing touch. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

These owls are sooo adorable, Trina! I'm always impressed how you combine stamps from different sets and create a wonderful scene. Your Copics coloring and the ink-blending (sponging) are so pretty. The white gel pen snow is the perfect finishing touch!
This B-day card will make both of your crafty friends smile!
