CAS Christmas October Reminder - Christmas Birds

Hello and welcome to the reminder post for the October Christmas Birds challenge at CAS Christmas.

I couldn’t let this challenge pass by without using my favourite little penguin from now closed down Winnie and Walter (WW)!  I paired him with new NBUS sentiment stamp set Naughty and Nice from Scrapbook.com to create this fun card.

A panel was die cut from X-Press It cardstock using A2 Stitched Rectangle Set 1 die from My Favorite Things.  Stamped the penguin and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Coloured the image in with Copic Sketch markers and Polychromos pencils

Next, stamped the sentiment onto masking paper to use as a guide to hand cut a thought bubble stencil.  Adhered the DIY stencil over the stamped sentiment on the panel and applied SU! Sahara Sand dye ink with a blender brush.  Stencilled the three little circles as well using a WW stencil and a detailed blending tool.  A warm grey Polychromos pencil was used to add shading to them.  Clear shimmer added to the hat brim and pom pom finished off the card.

For more inspirations from my team, head over to the challenge post HERE.  The challenge ends on October 24 PST.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful day.

So cute, hiding under his hat! Love the way you did the sentiment bubble! We may not be wishing for peace and quiet this Christmas but I think it's what we're all going to get, given Covid restrictions!

Oh this guy is SO cute and your sentiment is perfect for him Trina! love that hat pulled down over his eyes - your shading is so good on your home made stenciled thought bubble - I thought you had die cut it out and your sentiment was recessed - gorgeous shading on it, the bubbles and your grounding of the penguin - a beautiful card! xx
