WTFrank?

Hello and happy Labour Day to those enjoying the holiday.  I’m popping in quickly to share a fun A6 size (4.5”x6”) card created with the Drippy Frame die from Whimsy Stamps (WS) latest release.

Like several of my fellow designers, I saw a piece of cake with icing when I first saw this die.  I wanted to see what else I could come up with and Frankie happened! 😂   The frame was die cut from light green cardstock and partial die cut from black cardstock (hair).  On the green cutout, Shabby Shutters distress ink (DI) was ink blended around the edges to give it dimension.  The Pierced and Stitched Circles dies were used for the eyes and eyelids; the No-See Kinetic Basics dies were used for the nose and pupils.

The background panel is Bristol paper trimmed to A6 size.  Ink blended Wilted Violet and Black Soot DI on opposite ends and fading towards the middle.  Next, placed the Honeycomb Drips stencil at the top and applied more Wilted Violet DI.  Splattered the panel with diluted black gouache paint for texture.  Set aside to dry.  WTF? word and shadow were die cut from Bristol paper and black cardstock, respectively.  Applied Wilted Violet DI to it for cohesion.  Assembled the card onto a white 4.5”x6” card base, then added highlights with a white gel pen and stitch marks with a fine black pen to finish.

Such a fun take on this ankle. It turns out that a cake with frosting can look like a monster too. You have a great imagination.
