Meowy Christmas

Hello there.  I’m popping in to share a CAT-mas (aka cat theme Christmas) card. *lol*😂   Christmas Kickstart Challenge (CKC) is doing a special challenge this month in memory of the late Janis Woolbright who passed away earlier this year in January.

Janis organized and hosted the Cat Lovers Blog Hop (CLBH) every year in October.  Over the years I randomly came across posts for the hop in blogland, but did not actively participate until last year.  I was also one of the lucky prize winners and Janis was so kind and thorough, following up with me to ensure I received it.  So in her honour, I used A Kitten Christmas (retiring) stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs (NND) to create this punny card.

Stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and masking were used for the kitties on the wood floor.  Started with the middle kitty then the two side kitties, and finally the wood floor from My Favorite Things (MFT) On Solid Ground.  Masked the floor and “baseboard trim” after the stamping was completed and ink blended Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress inks (DI) for the wall.

Removed all masks and coloured in the scene with Copic Sketch markers.

Copic markers used:
reds - R14/27/37/39
middle kitty - C00/1/3/5
left kitty - Y11/21, YR23
right kitty - Y21, YR21/23, E35
floor - E31/23/25/27/29
hat brim/Pom Pom - C00/0/1/2/3

“Christmas” from NND Snow Globe Scenes was then heat embossed with gold embossing powder directly on the panel.  Would have used the sentiment from the same kitten stamp set, but it got stuck to something and don’t know where it is. 🤷🏻‍♀️  Die cut the MFT In Stitches Lowercase Alphabet letters from gold foil paper, then adhered them to the panel.  Added highlights with a white gel pen to finish.

Affiliate links have been used when possible at no extra cost to you, so if you click on any of them and place an order, I want to thank you for shopping with me.  That does it for my card.  Thank you for stopping by.

Awwww.... and a big WOW!! You are the Masking Queen, Trina!! Such adorable scene you created, so "realistic" (Cats and Christmas ornaments are REALLY incompatible! LOL :D ) That amazing blue on the back and the gorgeous floor are just the perfect choices to make those naughty kitties POP!) Awesome colouring as always and love the gold sentiment! I also agree with Lisa and Kitty, you could be a fabulous illustrator for children's books! This card seems just a book cover!
I'm happy you managed to make a card for the fabulous celebration in honour of Janis! And such amazing card!
