The Ripped Edge Circle was die cut from Neenah Desert Storm paper to create a wood slice section. All the dies were then nested together with cutting edges facing up. Lightly inked the cutting edges with brown dye ink, then “stamped”/pressed it onto the ripped edge circle cutout for wood rings. Ink blended around the edges with the same brown dye ink. For the bark, die cut a frame then ink blended the brown dye ink heavily before layering it on top.
The rest of the elements were all die cut from Neenah Solar White paper and the colouring was done with Copic Sket+h markers (B00, BG11, BV000). A Copic Colorless Blender 0 was used to lighten the colours of the containers to give the gradient contrast. The sentiment from Hero Arts Everyday Sentiment Strips was gold heat embossed then die cut out with the Sentiment Strips die. Assembled onto a cream woodgrain panel and adhered onto a white card base to finish.
I had (and still have, so you may or may not see more from this collection 🤷🏻♀️) a lot of die cut pieces left over. Such a shame to have them go to waste. Would you believe me if I told you I used the same sketch for this second card? 😉
I flipped the sketch this time, taking creative licence 😂 and used the planter, small wood slice and leafy foliage as the three elements. The Layered With Sympathy sentiment was die cut from gold foil paper and its shadow from vellum. Assembled the card onto white woodgrain paper then adhered onto a white card base to finish.
