Guest Designer for Christmas Craft Creations April 2024 Challenge - Non-traditional Colours

Hello everyone.  I’m excited to be guest designing (GD) at Christmas Craft Creations (CCC) this month for their April Non-Traditional Colours challenge.

*please note: affiliate links used in this post when possible at no extra cost to you… thank you!

Non-traditional colours to me means not red/green or red/gold.  I then remembered never before used (NBUS) Merry Bees-mas stamp and dies from My Favorite Things (MFT) and NBUS Bee Merry stamp from Clearly Besotted and inked them up for my card.  Let me introduce you to twin bees, Merry and Bright. πŸ˜‚*lol*

The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.  The bees were die cut out with the matching die.  There is no die available for the beehive, so it was fussy cut out.

Copic markers used:
yellows - Y11/13/15, V01
blacks - C3/5/7/9
pinks - RV10/63/55/09
beehive - Y21, YR21/23/24/27
lights - BG05, RV06, Y06, YR07
shading - C00/1/3

Next, masked the upper portion of an A2 size Bristol panel and ink blended Salvaged Patina distress ink over NBUS slimline cloud stencil (retired from MFT).  Lightly splattired with water and dabbed with a paper towel.  The Woodland Branch from Memory Box was die cut from brown cardstock.  Stamped the sentiment in black directly onto the panel, then assembled the card.  Added snow details with a white gel pen to finish.

I want to thank Charlotte and the CCC design team (DT) for this GD opportunity.  For inspirations from the DT and to link up your entry, please click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.

CAS Christmas July Reminder - Santa

Hello there.  I’m popping in today with the reminder post for the SANTA challenge at CAS Christmas.

Here’s my CAS (clean and simple) card.

Santa from new/unused (NBUS) Christmas Characters stamp set by Clearly Besotted (CB) was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on an alcohol marker friendly panel die cut with the Pinkfresh Studio Blanket Stitched Rectangle.  Coloured the image and faux watercolour bloom with Copic Sketch markers, then added dots and star crosses with a white Gelly roll pen.

Heat embossed the sentiment from CB Tiny Type stamp set with gold embossing powder on black cardstock, then trimmed to a strip with my paper cutter.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.  Easy-peasy!

There is one week left to enter by July 24 PST.  Check out the cards from my team HERE for more inspirations.  Thank you for stopping by.

CAS Christmas November Challenge - Christmas Critters

Hello again.  I’m back with my second post for today.  We will be taking December off at CAS Christmas, so this will be the last challenge in 2021.  We have another great theme this month and it is Christmas Critters!

I have a fair amount of Christmas critter stamps and even more critter stamps that can be stretched and be turned into one. πŸ˜†  The toughest part of this challenge was deciding which critter to use. πŸ˜‚   But since I have a bunch that are unused, I decided to go with the Prancing Plushies stamp set from Clearly Besotted for my card today.

Stamped the reindeer images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Xpress It cardstock and coloured with Copic markers.  Fussy cut them out (there are no matching dies sold).

Next, hand cut a snowy ground mask from masking paper and adhered it to the bottom portion of a stitched Bristol rectangle panel from my stash.  I don’t know why, but lately I’ve been gravitating to purple, so Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet distress inks (DI) were blended on with blender brushes for the sky.  Splattered with diluted Wilted Violet DI and white gouache paint to give it texture and a snowy look.

Finally, heat embossed the sentiment on a black cardstock strip with white embossing powder before assembling the card onto a white top folding card base.  Added snowflakes atop the reindeer images (because snow doesn’t try to avoid them πŸ˜‚) with a white gel pen to finish.

Valerie (Le Scrap de Vava) is our guest this month and you can find more inspiration from her and the design team HERE.  Looking forward to seeing you in the gallery.  Thank you for stopping by.

CAS Christmas August Challenge - Decorations

Hello everyone.  Christmas in July may be over, but Christmas card making continues at CAS Christmas!  For August this month, the theme is DECORATIONS

This little guy was eager to decorate the tree.  Unfortunately, the Clearly Besotted Merry Christmoose stamp set he came from is now retired, but luckily it was updated to a new 4x6 inch version to include more images and sentiments.  Here’s my super easy CAS card.

Started by stamping the box of decorations with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a stitched rectangle panel die cut from Xpress It cardstock.  Masked it, then stamped the moose.  Masked him and the “wall” and added Pumice Stone distress ink with a blender brush to create the “floor”.

Coloured the images with Copic markers.  The sentiment from the set was stamped in black then with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Adhered the panel to a white card base then added Crystal Glaze to the baubles to finish.  Sorry, couldn’t capture their shine and dimensions in the photos.

We are welcoming Lucie (Lucie G Cards) as our guest this month.  She and the design team have some beautiful cards to inspire you to join us HERE.  Hope to see you in the gallery.  Thank you for dropping by.

Before the Stockings were Hung By the Chimney with Care

Hello there.  Today’s card was a happy surprise.  I had stamped this image (retired - Merry Mouse from Clearly Besotted) many months ago to play along in some challenges, but I ended up doing something else.  So it was tucked away uncoloured and untouched until now to be entered in several challenges.  I first heard ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” in my childhood, and before the stockings were hung by the chimney with care… πŸ˜‰

The Wrapped Stitch Rectangle die from Memory Box was used to die cut a panel from Xpress It cardstock.  Stamped the image in the corner with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it with Copic markers.

Masked the image next, then used a blender brush to blend Antique Linen distress ink through an English Brick Wall stencil from My Favorite Things (MFT).  The sentiment from Clearly Besotted Christmas Corners was heat embossed on black cardstock with white embossing powder.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

Thank you for stopping by.

‘Twas a Trio of Mice Before Christmas

Hello everyone.  Still dealing with back/hip problems, but at least for now I’m able to sit and craft in short spurts of time.  So for today, I have an easy Christmas card to share.  It was inspired by several challenges.

I used an oldie but goodie Sending Joy stamp set from Your Next Stamp (YNS). Stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock.  Coloured it in with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils, then fussy cut it out with a slight border.

The wood panel background was from my stash.  It is Bristol paper embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! (SU!).  To make the wood details more noticeable, Chipped Sapphire distress ink was blended on with a blender brush, keeping a heavier blend on the left.  The sentiment from never before used (NBUS) Clearly Besotted Merry Mouse was white heat embossed on a navy blue cardstock strip.  For some sparkle, added clear shimmer to the purples and a few jewel rhinestones to finish.

Before I go, I just wanted to wish my American neighbours to the south a Happy Thanksgiving.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

CAS Christmas November Reminder - Warm and Cosy

Hello everyone. There is still a week left to enter our Warm and Cosy challenge at CAS Christmas.

So what could be more warm and cosy than a crackling fireplace and the smell of fresh baked cookies wafting through the home?  And that scene was the inspiration for my reminder card.

So how adorable is that excited little mouse? πŸ€—   Started by stamping mama and son mice with Copic friendly black ink on a stitched Copic friendly piece of cardstock.  Masked them before stamping the fireplace.  Masked the fireplace and the floor, then blended Real Red and Soft Suede dye inks with blender brushes to create the wall.  I wanted to use warm colours.

Masked the wall and “baseboard” next, and blended Sahara Sand dye ink for the floor.  Removed the masks and coloured in all images with Copics.  Black heat embossed the sentiment and added clear shimmer to the flames to finish.

If you need more inspiration to play along, head on over to the challenge post HERE and check out what our guest Bobby (Bits & Pieces) and my team have created.  Love to see what you come up with.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a merry Christmas and we’ll see you next year for the next CAS Christmas challenge.

CAS Christmas November Challenge - Warm and Cosy

Hello there.  This is the final challenge of the year at CAS Christmas as we are taking a break next month. So for this month, we are getting Warm and Cosy.

Winter can be miserable and wet here.  I prefer to stay inside where it’s warm and cosy.  But if I have to venture outside, I still like to stay warm and cosy by bundling up from head to toe... almost like this little fella. πŸ˜‰

Started by stamping the sweet bear off the edge with Copic friendly black ink on Copic friendly cardstock.  Coloured in with Copics, then masked him.  Next, ink blended turquoise dye ink (retired) through a DIY die cut reverse circle stencil for a backdrop.

Die cut the image piece with a stitched rectangle die then popped it onto a white top folding card base with fun foam for some dimension.   White heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock.  Added falling snow with a white gel pen to finish.

We have Bobby (Bits & Pieces) joining us as our guest this month.  And if you need more inspirations, check out what Bobby and my team have created HERE.  Christmas is coming up pretty quick now.  Hope you will join us and get your cards done.  Thank you for dropping by.
