The Male Room Challenge #95 - The Great Outdoors

Hello everyone!  I'm excited to be guest designing this fortnight over at The Male Room (TMR) challenge #95 The Great Outdoors.

Summer is over and I am not big on fall cards, so Christmas it is!  I couldn't think of anything more Great Outdoors than the Northern Lights.  Normally, I would make it multicoloured, but because this is a masculine card challenge, I stuck with the all green type.  Here's my card.

Started by trimming a piece of mixed media paper down to 4.5"x3.25".  Heat embossed the trees using Versafine black ink and clear embossing powder.  Used a mini blending tool to add streaks of Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn distress ink to the sky.  Black Soot distress ink was applied last with a sponge dauber.  Excess ink was wiped off with a paper towel.  To give it some shine like the  true Northern Lights, spritz it with a DIY shimmer spray.

Adhered the piece to a black A2 size panel, then mounted it to a white card base.  Added a black die cut deer to finish.

There are wonderful inspirations from TMR team, and you can see them HERE.  Masculine cards are always handy to have, so hope you will play along.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful week.
