CAS Christmas October Reminder - Birds

Hi there!  This is the reminder post for this month's Bird challenge at CAS Christmas.  There is one week left to get. your entries linked.  Here's my card.

Started with an A2 size piece of Smoky Slate cardstock.  Heat embossed the bird with white embossing powder.  Next, stamped the tree section and pine bough from the same set with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder for a tone-on-tone look.  Then whitewashed the tree section by painting white pigment refill ink over the area with a watercolour brush.  Wiped off ink from the embossed areas with a paper towel.

Peace was then die cut from a scrap of Whisper White paper and twice more from thick white scraps.  Blended Picked Raspberry distress ink to the Whisper White piece with a mini blending tool.  For some sparkle, covered it with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  Die cut the piece with a stitched rectangle and popped it onto a white card base with fun foam to finish.

Creative design as always Trina!! Love the heat embossed bird, wood and branches. The white bird really pops and the background wood and branches are subtle, but will make a statement. Great idea to white wash the image to enhance even further. Your peace sentiment is the icing on the cake. :) Love that pop of colours and the sparkled from the glitter embossing. xx

I love the cross section of the tree for your background, Trina! The sparkly bird looks right at home there! Love the way you've colored the die cut peace! As always a fabulous Christmas card in non-traditional Christmas colors!

Trina, I love your colour combo in pink and gray so unusual for Christmas. Your white cardinal is stunning against the wood grain. Amazing card :)

Trina, your cards are always amazing. I like the way you've been using the large single words in your designs with just the right image to compliment it. The pink/gray combo on this one is so peaceful! tfs

Fabulous - love the way you did the shading on the sentiment die and then added the sparkly embossing powder. And putting the tree section behind the bird was a great idea for added interest.
