Jane’s Doodles Challenge - #1 Winter Scene

Hello everyone.  I’ve been a long time fan of Jane’s Doodles stamps, so I am so excited to be on her first ever Jane’s Doodles Challenge design team for the next six months!  The challenges are every two weeks and our first challenge starts today with a Winter Scene theme.

I guess watching all those Hallmark Christmas movies for the last two months really had an impact and I envisioned a chalet up in the snowy mountains. 😂   And I managed to check off four new stamp sets from my massive NBUS (Never Before Used Stuff) list to create this.

Stamped the chalet, trees and snowman with alcohol friendly black ink on alcohol friendly cardstock.  Coloured them in with Copics then fussy cut them out.  Used a black marker to cover up the white edges.

Next, took a Bristol A2 sized stitched rectangle panel from my stash and ink blended Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac distress inks to create the sky.  The sentiment was black heat embossed, then snow drifts were added with a light gray Copic marker.  For a cold wintry feel, spritz the entire panel with a sparkle spray (couldn’t capture the sparkle in the photo).  Finally, added snow with a white gel pen to finish.

I know the Christmas season is over, but if you love a great bargain, Jane has many of her Christmas stamp sets on sale right now HERE.  Hope you will join us with your winter scene creations.  Just make sure it’s new and include at least one Jane’s Doodles product.  Oh and did I mention there’s a $30 gift card up for grabs?  Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.  Thank you for stopping by.
