Guest Designer for CAS on Friday Challenge #271 - Christmas

Hello everyone.  I’m delighted to be guest designing (GD) at CAS on Friday (CASF) this fortnight for their CHRISTMAS challenge.

The snowman image (retired Clearly Besotted Christmas Characters stamp set) was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink in the middle of an A2 size alcohol marker friendly cardstock panel.  Masked it and the snowy ground using torn printer paper, then ink blended Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves distress inks for the background.

Coloured the image/scene in using the following Copic Sketch markers:

pinks - RV10/63/55
hat - C4/6/9
shading - C00/0/1/2 + 0  colorless blender
highlights - white gel pen

The sentiment (retired My Favorite Things Itty Bitty Holiday Wishes stamp set) was stamped with Seedless Preserves distress oxide ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Adhered the panel onto a white card base, then added a few shiny snowflake sequins to finish.

I want to thank Janneke and the CASF team for this GD opportunity.  For more inspirations from them and/or link up your own CAS Christmas card, click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.

Guest Designer for CAS on Friday - Flowers

Hello everyone.  I’m excited to be guest designing today at CAS on Friday for their challenge #227 where the theme is FLOWERS.  I used another new/unused stamp set (NBUS) I’ve had for years.  I can’t even link to it because it is already discontinued! πŸ™ˆ  Anyway, in solidarity with Ukraine and taking colour inspiration from their flag πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦, here’s my card.

I know there is no green in their flag, but blue + yellow = green! πŸ˜‰   Started by stamping the flower bunch with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a stitched panel that was die cut from XPress It cardstock using A2 Stitched Rectangle Set 1 die by My Favorite Things.  The image was then stamped again onto masking paper and fussy cut out to create a mask.  Masked the image then stamped the pot.

Removed the mask and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages.  It was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  For additional sparkle, added clear shimmer to the flowers and yellow Pastel Jewels from Memory Box to the flower centers to finish.

Guest Designer for CAS on Friday - One Layer

Hello there.  I’m welcoming in November as a guest designer at CAS on Friday for their One Layer (OL) challenge.  The irony is I usually avoid making OL cards, but they are simple to do and require very little explanation. πŸ˜‚  Here’s my OL winter floral card.

Took a top folding A2 card base made from Copic friendly cardstock, stamped the Winter Anemone image with Copic friendly black ink, and coloured in with Copics.  Used a white gel pen to add in the stamen anthers.

Heat embossed the sentiment (no longer available) with silver embossing powder then added clear shimmer (couldn’t capture it in the photo) to the flowers to finish.

A quick post today.  You can check out the challenge post HERE for more inspirations.  Hope to see you in the gallery.  Thank you for dropping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.
