CAS Christmas October Challenge - Gray and Red

Hello everyone.  I’m back with my second post today.  This time it’s for the October challenge at CAS Christmas.  This month’s theme is GRAY and RED.

I used a new-to-me Jingle Bells stamp from Purple Onion Designs (POD) with STAMPlorations Jingle Bells die to create my clean and simple card.

The POD bell image is am unmounted red rubber stamp, so a temporary adhesive was used to attach it to the MISTI door.  Stamped the image on a stitched Smoky Slate rectangle panel with Memento London Fog ink because I was planning to colour it with Copic markers, but the small narrow areas made me switch to Polychromos pencils.

Next, the sentiment was die cut from red foil paper.  Assembled the card onto a white card base, then drew in a few stars with a white pencil to finish.  Easy-peasy.

Darnell (djkardkreations) is our wonderful guest this month.  To see what she and the design team have created to inspire you to play along, click HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week.

Guest Designer for Time Out Challenge #163 - Inspired by Words

Hello there.  I’m excited to be back guest designing at Time Out for their challenge #163 Inspired by Words.

Grateful and blossom stood out to me.  And since STAMPlorations is sponsoring the challenge, I used a new unused (NBUS) stamp from them called Blossom Sprays #1 to create this thank you card.

The image was stamped on X-Press It cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copic markers and Polychromos pencils.  Clear shimmer on the flowers for some sparkle and white dot details were added before fussy cutting it out.

For the background, took a kraft panel from my stash and blended kraft ink over an English Brick Wall stencil from My Favorite Things.  Purposely applied the ink unevenly and added black splatters to give it textured and rustic look.  The sentiment (freebie from closed down Winnie and Walter) was die cut from white shimmer and black cardstock and offset for a shadow effect.  Die cut the NBUS Memory Box Bubble Circle from Bristol paper then assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

For more inspirations from the design team, check out the challenge post HERE.  I want to thank Sandie and the TO team for having me guest.  Hope to see your cards in the gallery.  Enjoy your day.

CAS Christmas January Challenge - Tag

Happy new year everyone!  We are kicking off this new decade at CAS Christmas with Tag as our theme this month.  It’s still a card challenge, so make sure to include a tag somewhere on your card entry.

Here’s my card.

Took a stitched rectangle panel from my stash and embossed it with a falling snow embossing folder (retired).  Next, stamped the Avery Elle snowman with alcohol friendly black ink on a scrap of alcohol friendly cardstock.  Coloured in with Copics then die cut out with the matching die.

Then on a scrap of Bristol paper, the sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder, then die cut out with STAMPlorations Luggage Tag.  Ombre ink blended Peacock Feathers distress ink with a blender brush then wiped off excess ink with a paper towel.  To make it stand out better, used a dark gray Polychromos pencil to add shading.  Looped a red baker’s twine to the tag then added snow with a white gel pen to finish.

We have Jane (Onions and Paper) as our guest this month.  To see what she and my team have created to inspire you, check out the challenge post HERE.  Looking forward to seeing what you create.  Thank you for dropping by.

Mother's Day Blooming Cup

Hello there.  With Mother's Day this Sunday and the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop

ending soon, I couldn't think of a better time to ink up this Cup of Blooms stamp I've had for a while.

Nothing fancy to make this card. All stamping was done with Copic friendly black ink on an X-press It stitched rectangle panel from my stash.  First the cup of blooms, then the banner and sentiment.

I didn't want the sentiment banner floating in mid air so drew a "stick" with a black Copic Multilines to ground it.  Adhered the panel to a white card base and added a few clear sequins to finish.

Just some simple stamping and colouring, and it was done.  Thank you for dropping by.  Happy Mother's Day weekend to all the moms out there.

CAS Christmas February Challenge - Peace

Hello there.  I'm here today to share my card for the February challenge at CAS Christmas.  The theme this month is Peace.

I saw this card by Diana Nguyen years ago and it stuck with me.  A dove is symbolic for Peace Christmas cards.  I don't have any nice dove stamps or dies, but I just bought an angel die and thought it would pair nicely with the theme.  Blue is my favourite colour, but since it's February and I was going for an angelic look, I used pink to create this.

Masked a strip down the left side of a stitched rectangle panel die cut from Bristol paper.  Sponged the entire area with Pink Pirouette dye ink (retired).  Positioned a sunburst stencil near the upper right corner and sponged Pretty Pink dye ink (retired) through it.  Removed the stencil and added Pinkalicious dye ink around the edges.  Mixed white acrylic paint with water and splattered for some texture.

The angel was die cut from scraps of Bristol paper three times and stacked for dimension.  Peace was also die cut three times and stacked, but the third layer was die cut from silver foil paper.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and clear shimmer was added to the angel for some sparkle to finish.

The challenge closes on February 24, so there is lots of time to play along.  We have Linda W. of Scrappin', Stampin' & Singing joining us this month as our guest.  To see more inspirations, head over to the challenge blog HERE.  That does it for me.  Thank you for visiting.

Oh Frap! Birthday

Hello there.  A quick birthday card to share to help celebrate CAS Watercolour 2nd birthday.   Congratulations, Loll, Bonnie and the design team!

This Oh Frap! die sentiment makes me smile every time and I love pairing this kitty with it.  Started by stamping the kitty with Copic friendly black ink on X-press It cardstock, coloured in with Copics and die cut out with the matching die.

Oh Frap was die cut from watercolour paper and brown cardstock.  Zigs and a watercolour brush were used to colour the watercolour paper piece.  Offset it with the brown one for a shadow effect.

On an A2 size watercolour panel, smooshed Bundled Sage distress ink for the background.  White heat embossed the sentiment on a brown cardstock strip.  Mounted the panel on a white card base to finish.

And that's it for me!  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week.
