Whimsy Stamps - Sending Love Mother’s Day

Hello… and happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and mother-figures who are being celebrated today!  On that note, I have a Mother’s Day card to share today using products  from Whimsy Stamps (WS).

The images from Raccoon Happy Day and Postal Minus were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper, coloured with Copic Sketch markers then fussy cut out.

Copic markers used:
raccoon - C3/4/5/6/7
envelope - C00/1/2, R46

To ground the images, dark gray ink was blended onto a Bristol panel.  “Happy” from Cue the Confetti and “mother’s day” from Happy Sayings were inked with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder (EP).  Repeated the heat embossing for “sending love”, except inked it with a black and red water based markers then with VersaMark for the EP to stick to.  To give subtle interest to the background, ran the panel through my die cutting machine with the Floating Hearts cover plate.  Adhered  the card onto a white card base then added the image to finish.

Simon Says Stamp - In My Heart

Hello there!  I’m back again today to share a couple of cards for the new IN MY HEART release from Simon Says Stamp (SSS).

First up is a 5” square card featuring Impressionistic Flower stencil and die sets paired with the Nature in Bloom text background stamp.

Instead of ink blending the stencil layers solid as it was intended, I wanted to “stretch’ it and get some colour variations for a softer, dimensional look.  Three gradient colours of cherry blossom crisp dye inks were used to stencil the flower before due cutting the image with the matching die.  The sentiment, also part of the die set, was die cut from black glossy paper.

Stamped the text background with dark gray dye ink onto Bristol paper next then adhered the flower in the centre.  Splattered with diluted white gouache paint for some texture then mounted the panel to a white 5”square card base to finish

My second card features the Flower Bunny dies and Mom EZ Strips.  The bunny and flower pieces were die cut from X-Press It paper then coloured with Copic Sketch markers   Once again I did more “stretching” this time creating daisies from the original 6-petal flower design.

I was about to cut a sentiment from the EZ strip panel, but the panel is A2 size, and I thought it would make a fun text background.  To help the bunny stand out better, a Rounded Heart was die cut from vellum and its backside coloured with a BG34 Copic Sketch marker.  Assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

Mother’s Day Bouquet

Hello there.  It’s Mother’s Day here today and I want to wish all the moms, especially my amazing mom, a well-deserved fabulous day!  My mom is out of town so thank goodness for FaceTime. 🤗   Anyway, no surprise I have my mom’s Mother’s Day card to share today.  I used Hero Arts Bouquet Accessories fancy dies to give her a dozen paper roses .… unfortunately, she will be receiving them late. 🙈

Our favourite colour is blue, but the polka dot bouquet wrap from my stash was already inked with Spun Sugar distress ink (DI), so I went with it.  Besides, it was die cut from the last scrap of polka dot resist paper I’ve had for over a decade so there were none left for me to redo in blue. 😂  The bouquet flowers/foliage were all die cut from scraps of alcohol marker friendly cardsrock and coloured with Copic Sketch markers.

The background panel was also from my stash and it is Bristol paper embossed with a script embossing folder (unknown).  I just blended Spun Sugar DI on the upper left corner.  The sentiments (retired) were heat embossed with gold embossing powder on a scrap of Bristol paper then trimmed to strips.  The letters “mom” were die cut from Memory Box gold Polished Foil paper using Bold Amazing Greeting Word Plate dies by The Ton.  Assembled the card onto a white card base and added clear shimmer to the roses to finish.

So a lot of paper scraps and leftover pieces (Alice, I tried 🤷🏻‍♀️) were used here even though my scrap pile doesn’t look like it was even touched. 😆  Thank you for joining me today.  For those who are celebrating, happy Mother’s Day.  Have a wonderful day everyone.
