Guest Designer for Colourful Options September 2025 Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello there.  I’m excited to be back as a guest designer (GD) this month at Colorful Options (CO) for their ANYTHING GOES (AG) challenge.

Can’t believe my nephew in this post is now a tween! I used products from Whimsy Stamps (WS) to make this card for him, but then realized it’s too young for him..  oh well. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Distress inks (DI) in rainbow colours.were ink blended through a die cut circle stencil in three areas on a Bristol panel.  The pandas from Panda Peekers were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It paper, coloured with cool gray Copic Sketch markers then fussy cut out.  To have them “popping” out from the circles, they were then die cut with the same circle die used to create the stencil.  The paws of the top two pandas had to be fussy cut out and adhered to fit the circle.

The “bears cool!” Punny part of sentiment was die cut from white and Iombré ink blended with Blueprint Sketch DI.  To define the “cool”  letters, Copic Sketch markers B0000 and FB2 were used.  The other part of the sentiment from Yeti Birthday was stamped with Blueprint Sketch distress oxide ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Adhered and assembled the card onto a white card base to finish.

I would like to thank Makira and the CO team for having me join them again.  Play along
in the fun and link up your project HERE.  Thank you for stopping by.

Big Birthday Wishes

Hello there.  Now that my crafty friend has received it, I am sharing the simple birthday card I made for her.

This adorable skunk from the C.C. Designs Skunks stamp set has been in my stash since this card was made.  He was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured with Copic Sketch markers C3/5/8/9, then die cut out with the matching die.  The hat from C.C. Designs Bears stamp set was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured with Copic Sketch markers B12/FB2/B28 then fussy cut out.

“Big” was die cut from Bristol and black paper using My Favorite Things (MFT) Big Birthday Wishes die.  Since blue 💙 is my friend’s (and mine 😉) favourite colour, the Bristol letters were ombré ink blended with Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks.  The sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays (retired MFT set) was heat embossed on black cardstock with white embossing powder.  Assembled the card onto a white card base then embellished with Moonshine sequins from Simon Says Stamp to finish.

Products used for the card are linked below.  Thank you for stopping by.

Guest Designer for Addicted to CAS Challenge #198 - Ombre

Hello there.  I’m excited to be back today guest designing (GD) at Addicted to CAS (ATCAS) for their challenge #198 - Ombré.

My sister needed a card for a friend who moved away to the other side of the country.  Her friend’s favourite colour is purple and my favourite way to use ombré is on die cut sentiments, so this is what resulted.

I took the opportunity to use a never before used (NBUS) stamp set called Rain or Shine from Reverse Confetti.  Stamped the bunny image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of Xpress It cardstock, coloured it with Copic markers (V15, V12, V01, V000, V0000, C3, C1, C00), then die cut it out with the coordinating die.  The sentiment from SugarPea Designs Everyday Sentiments was white heat embossed on black cardstock.

Next, took a scrap of Bristol paper and ink blended Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet distress inks (DI) to create the ombré.  Covered the piece with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with clear glitter embossing powder for some sparkle before die cutting it with the Vintage Varsity Alphabet letters from Memory Box.  Die cut the letters again from black cardstock to offset for a drop shadow.  Finally blended Peacock Feathers DI on a stitched Bristol panel from my stash then assembled the card.  Added white pen details to finish.

I want to thank the ATCAS team for having me GD.  For more inspirations from the design team, head on over to the blog post HERE.  Thank you for visiting.

Guest Designer for Addicted to CAS Challenge #188 - Emboss

Happy new year everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was good to you.  For my first blog post of the year, I’m excited to be guest designing (GD) at Addicted to CAS (ATCAS) for their challenge #188 - Emboss.

I needed a belated birthday card for a friend.  The BB Holiday Penguins stamp set from My Favorite Things (MFT) was sitting out on my desk, so I decided to stretch it to create this.

The penguin was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock and coloured in with Copic Sketch markers (BG10, BG13, BG49, YR00, YR16, E08, C00, C1, C3, C9), then die cut out with the coordinating die.

The MFT Impact letters were die cut from scraps of X-Press It cardstock and ombre coloured with the same BG markers listed above.  Inked them with VersaMark and heat embossed them with clear glitter embossing powder for lots of sparkle.  The sentiment from MFT Bitty Birthday Wishes was white heat embossed on a black cardstock strip.  Adhered an A2 stitched Bristol panel from my stash onto a white card base and assembled the card to finish.

Check out the challenge blog post HERE for more inspirations from the design team, then join in the fun!  Before I go I want to thank Kylie and the ATCAS team for the GD opportunity.  Cheers to a better 2021 (it shouldn’t be too hard 😆).  Have a wonderful weekend.

CAS Christmas November Reminder - Non-traditional Colours

Hello everyone.  Are you done your Christmas cards yet?  If not, this is the reminder post for the Non-traditional Colours challenge at CAS Christmas.

Here’s my card.

I just love the joyful expression on this bunny from Hello Bluebird (HB) First Snow stamp set.  He was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It cardstock die cut with My Favorite Things (MFT) Wonky Stitched Rectangle.  Coloured him and the snowy scene with Copic markers, then added snow with a white gel pen.

The ‘Sending Holiday’ sentiment from MFT Bitty Holiday Wishes was black heat embossed.  JOY from HB Joyful Mouse coordinating die was die cut from X-Press It and black cardstock.  Ombré coloured the white letters with the same red Copic markers used to colour the scarf, then added clear shimmer on top for some sparkle (hard to see in the photo, but it’s there).  Stacked and offset them for a shadow effect.  Adhered the panel to a white card base to finish.

Still time to play along.  The challenge closes on November 24 PST.  More inspirations from the designers can be seen HERE.  Thank you for dropping by.  Have a wonderful week.
